I plan on putting a GTX 460 768mb in my HTPC. Just because I have it laying around.

The case I really like is the SilverStone GD01B-R. Also my 2600K is going into it. So suggest a case + motherboard that would work well with the GTX 460 while keeping the same part of my equipment type look.

Is the card's cooler an internal vent or rear case vent?

In that case you need at least one 120 MM fan near the top of the case to pull the combined GPU+CPU produced heat away. More airflow near the top rear and top, um top, will help you out.
