Yeah no problem *rolleyes*.

The build ran about 1800 as it is...not 2250.

Ahh, you said dropped about 2 grand, what's another 250, I was just adding those together. I've got a similar build and spent about the same.

Nah for some reason I thought you trolling...my bad.

Yeah I'm gonna drop another 6950 in soon, maybe even order it today. Are you running two cards as well? The 6950?

Just one 6950 now. I had planned on getting a second around Christmas for BF3, but I really haven't ended up playing it that much. Mostly been playing skyrim but I haven't had any framerate issues running a single card and heard crossfire doesn't play nice with it.

You can bet as soon as a game comes out that I play a lot and will benefit from a second card, I'll have one.

Yeah I've heard about bottlenecking and also my psu is only 600w so I'm not even sure that will push two cards.

lol yuppers. You'll be able to sell your other one to offset some of the cost. People laugh when I buy a 1200 watt psu but I'll never have to upgrade it

I don't know if anyone is subscribed to this thread anymore...

But if so, do any of you guys have any experience with the HT Omega PCI-E sound cards?

If so...how was it for gaming?

I got a full refund from Auzentech for my Forte and they sent me a HT HD card as well that I was going to sell and get a new card...

Any input much appreciated...

i have lots with the omega cards. IMO they are terrible gaming cards but really nice music cards. Their interface and OSD are strange and lack options. The drivers are pretty solid though.

You HD card will run rings around any of the omega cards IMO. Another option would be a Xonar STX card. That, the auzentech HD and the creative HD cards are pretty much the best on the market.

Yeah I am seriously considering snagging up that Xonar Essence, especially after getting a full refund from Auzentech. The Forte really pisses me off sometimes when it starts making hissing noises...I found some ghetto rig on toms hardware where people were wrapping the bracket in electric tape and that's seemed to help a lot but at this point I'm just gonna get another card.

You could always wait for the new Asus ROG Xonar Phoebus. Look to be cool, supposed to ship sometime Q2. just use the HD for now and get that when it hits. I'm gonna get one to try out too

Hey N8...not so sure about that piece that sits on the desk though...what about you? I think it'd be way cooler to hook this up to my I/O drive which I doubt is even possible.

I actually think it's a good idea but my pc's rear is facing me. For me personally it will work out perfect. I like the fact the thing has a mic in it, that could come in handy when I want to game with my high end headphones. I'm guessing that it will be $200 or so at launch, maybe even a bit more. I'm looking forward to testing it out

Yeah I'm just not crazy about having more wires to manage and try to deal with, let alone have another thing lying on my desk - kinda reminds me of a Mixamp in a way. I love being able to just plug my headphones right into the front of my machine via the I/O drive I got with my Forte...

For me that'd be a much better solution...

But I don't think this card's going to be compatible with the I/O drive which is a huge letdown .

You don't have to use the dongle though. I'm not sure if i will or not. Everything is so close for me, theres really no need to.

Why did you not just get the X-Fi Titanium HD sound card?

I think I had that in my cart at one point or another but was advised against it from a few guys on here that know a hell of a lot more than me. Don't get me wrong - the Auzentech's sound amazing in both game and music; but when switching from game to entertainment mode (for music, ect) the cards tend to make a hissing noise. It gets really, really, annoying. Granted the first one I had was defective and was without a doubt, no good. But...all in all, it was a good experience. I got two free soundcards out of the deal and an I/O drive. Sure, there were some headaches associated with dealing with Auzentech and so forth but it's over with now. Next card I get is definitely going to be something else, as in, has no affiliation with Creative, i.e. Asus.

I've been reading in the forums that it should be out at mid March. that will be perfect for the actual launch of ivy for the new build.
