Some pretty good deals are floating around. Amazon has 150 games available for download at 50% off. Witcher 2 for instance is only $16, Dungeon Defenders is $7.50, Mass Effect 2 is $5 (most titles are mid to low tier though). I'm sure a ton of places have PC hardware on sale as well.

Here's one! At NewEgg the XFX Radeon 6950 HD 1GB is normally $240. It's on sale for $230, but get it for $220 with this promo code (-$10 off): USXFX523

...and it comes with a $30 rebate offer, so your net price is $190. That's $50 off.

& I hear Rage is $29.99 at Target right now (YMMV).

No problem.

And for any of you looking to upgrade your aging CPU, Microcenter is offering the uber-popular Intel i5-2500K for $150 on Black Friday (in-store only).

Offered for $230 at NewEgg, this is the processor I got from Microcenter last month for the same low price and it is as awesome as people said it was. I took its stock 3.3Ghz speed and easily ramped it up to a stable 4.4GHz.

Yeah, if you want to buy games for Steam from another vendor, just make sure it is a Steamworks title. That's what when I found deals for Civ V and Batman AC. You just plug in the product code and Steam will dload it for you from its own store.

I'm waiting for a great Skyrim deal. It's a bit too new I suppose, but so is Batman AC and it is on sale everywhere. Maybe Steam's winter sale will have a good discount for it.

One thing I saw that impressed me this year are the 60" SHARP (great for gaming) LCD at Best Buy for $800 bucks that nobody appears to want because it isn't paper-thin LED, it isn't WiFi or 3D........

Sadly, its funny, there are no great deals on good 40 or 42" sets.....I am still using my 37" 1080p Westinghouse Monitor (no tuner) that clocks in almost 365 days of usage with it being on for at least 8 hours per day, if not more......and its still working. But its got some image retention and honestly I'd love to clear up a little bit of desk space by getting a thinner LED model, maybe even go to a 42" size....but the reality is those sets don't seem to exist, or they are prohibitively expensive.

I'm not paying for a 40" sharp what i could get a 60" sharp for

I have last year's set (the 78UN) which appears to be exactly the same as the 79UN, just a model year newer. It's an awesome set, I paid $1k for it, it's well worth that. For $800 it's a steal. I highly recommend it for anyone who doesn't have a HDTV yet. Just make sure you have a big stand or sturdy mount if they want to put it on their wall.

The great thing about buying from Best Buy is that they'll come and exchange a set for free if you a have a problem with it. My first one had really bad backlight bleed-through (common in large HDTVs) so I exchanged it for a second which has some, but it's barely noticeable.

BFBC2: Wagman
Steam: Wag

My Second Life character looks and acts exactly like me except he can fly.

The Sharp LED I got last year, 55", has corner-lit bleed but I expected it in a set like this, its for TV and really just gaming.....for when I don't want to fire up the projector.

Thanks for the links JoeBlow, I'd probably go with either a Sharp or a Panny 40 or 42" for my desktop monitor (used to 37" size now and my desk is rather large (its old)), but I'd need it to be LED and thin.....so far I'm not seeing the bargains, in fact I'm not sure if Sharp is even IN the 40 or 42" LED game anymore.....

Simple truth? This damn Westinghouse is still woriking ok...the Contrast Ratio sucks but I'm just so used to it.

Come to think of it, the Sharp's blacks are all blue...i really gotta adjust that set :P

OT... but I picked up a Sharp 60LE632u (LED) for under $1K and it's a solid set for the $. The CCFL model at $799 was an amazing deal and it looks almost as good as the LED 632 series, they are really close. Honestly it was one of the few actual 'brand name' tv deals out there for BF that I would be comfortable buying. I heard the 42" Sharp for $199 was built just for BB as a BF tv and is pretty lackluster regarding image quality, probably an older panel/processing in use.

I scored Batman AC (PC) retail discs for $29.99 at BB (includes free play as Robin download off GfWL).

Love sports, movies, and games. Slowly some day I'll add a projector and screen. Until then, I'll build up my library.

It was a black friday special but everyone had a Sharp 42" 1080p set for 200 bucks. Amazing deal even if it was a middling tv.

Stop rubbing it in fellas But that set was CCFL I think i'll wait for a $400 sharp LED and pounce on it, but until then I'm still ok with what I have.

I'm thinking about upgrading my DLP projectors to a 1080p Epson UB...but i have to amke up my mind quick. It doesn't have 3D, but I have no real need for 3D......wonder if I can get anything at all for my 720p PJ's...

Only two games haven't really had much of a discount. Skyrim and MW3. Both of those games, the best deal I've seen was $52.99 or $59.99 with a $10 gift card.

MW3 will take years to get a discount, Black Ops is finally seeing $29.99 but only on consoles, on PC the cheapest I've seen it ever is about $45 bucks. I'd love a GOTY edition with all the add-on map packs included.....but I wont hold my breath...

Yeah, it's crazy. I've been wanting to get the Modern Warfare games on PC, to see if the graphics are slightly better, etc, but the prices just never go down. I've played about half way thru the campaign in the first Modern Warfare on 360, but never ended up completely finishing that campaign. I've never played the campaign of MW2 or Black Ops.

I'm only interested in the single player campaigns for the most part, as I'd get killed instantly by a sniper if I try to play against peeps online. I'm just not the online deathmatch type guy. I'm sure I'd enjoy seeing some of the single player campaigns running at a legit 1080p, that would be pretty cool, but the idea of spending more than $10 on a PC game just doesn't make much sense to me, when I already have an overflowing backlog of games. Heck, Amazon has Bulletstorm for a mere 8 bucks, but even 8 bucks seems too high for me. $5 is the magic price. If I can get a Borderlands or Mass Effect 2 or Darksiders, or games like that for 5 bucks, then I really try to wait for everything to hit $5.

If Crysis 2 was $9.99. I'd probably buy that, just to try to see the purdy graphics.

I have such a thick backlog that I can afford to wait on Skyrim to calm down in price. By doing so I'll also have the latest patches, the latest 6970 firmware updates, and all the latest mods.

I've been looking for Modern Warfare but it's been stuck at $19.99 for the longest time. Drop it to $9.99 and I'm all over it. I have no desire to get 2 or 3 since they've been crippled by the publisher. Additionally, since user reviews haven't been favorable, I don't feel IW should get any of my money, regardless of price.
