Does anyone know if CRYSIS WARS is worth buying CRYSIS again with DRM from Amazon to play online? I recall trying the game once and going "OMG this map is epically huge" during one free weekend, but then I just kept getting killed by invisible guys....I hopped in a Jeep, drove around.....and then bailed.

Not a fan of the Mechwarriors since the first GPU-enabled game......MW2 I think......got tired of "Wow that is the most amazing mech ever! Shoot it in the kneecap".....

"Hey look at that! Shoot it in the kneecap"

I'd make an Arrow In The Knee joke but...

Call of Duty MW 2 is on sale today for $5 on Amazon!! Just grabbed me one. There are also some other decent titles on sale like Dungeon Defenders $3 and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 $2.50.

I just snagged it myself. Now only if MW1 will also go for $4.99, and Black Ops.... yeah right... I know it will be a few more years before that hits $4.99. The first Modern Warfare was $9.99 at one point, but I didn't end up jumping on it. Now, I wish I did. I'm going to have to sit on MW2 while I wait for the MW1 sale...

Oh well... just another game added to backlog list.

So how is COD MW2 on the pc? My son has all of the COD games (except for COD MW3) on the Xbox 360. After reading the reviews for it on Amazon, I wonder if it's even worth getting the pc version (and I'm not including the rants against Steam).

Its exactly the same as the console versions, except you can play with a mouse/keyboard, and turn on AA and AF and I think even Ambient Occlusion via drivers on Nvidia cards, and of course play at a higher resolution at 60fps.

It's alright playing it on PC except that it doesn't have Xbox controller support, only keyboard/mouse. I'm not very good that way, so it take some time to get used to.

Thanks for the answers guys. It does have lower hardware requirements, so I could really crank it up, even with my older XP rig. Let me chew on this for another day or so.

http://www.amazon.com/Call-Duty-Mode...9510289&sr=8-1

PC Download standard edition still showing $4.99, may have to enable java, it kept trying to add the xbox360 or mac version to my cart but eventually I got it to download. Activates on STEAM.

Oh, and this for less than a cup of coffee:

Ok Question: I have never played Mass Effect, just part 2.....is it worth it to buy the first game? Is it turn-based combat like KOTOR?

ME1 is a very good game and good to pick up on sale. It is slightly less linear than ME2 and I think the main story is better than ME2. ME1 has an inventory system that is very mundane, but some people like it. There is also a lot of missions that require driving a vehicle (Mako) around, which also is not very fun, but some people like it.

Combat system in ME1 is almost the same as ME2. Only differences I can think of is the default keys are different and the guns have an overheating system instead of using ammo. Oh, and companions need a line of sight in order for you to give orders.

I think the worst thing about ME2 is probing planets for resources. Thankfully, ME1 has none of that.

Yeah, ME1 is slightly better IMO, more mystery and more of the central story unraveling. I also thought the planet probing was horrible. Driving the Mako around i kinda fun i think, not realistic at times depending on the route you take, but the learning curve there and its kinda fun to try and drive is as straight, efficiently [and as upright] as you can. Theres no dragging the ship around the galaxy with your mouse this time either. And "praise the gods!" hopefully not in ME3 either. I think it helps to use your imagination and think about the realities the story elements infer and also stopping and checking out some of the the views, theres some really good art there.

@HeadRusch Yeah, i'd recommend stopping what your doing and go buy ME1 right now and start playing it today.

I'm pretty sure there is some kind of mod that allows for controller support. First I have to find Modern Warfare 1, because I never fully finished that campaign. I should probably just try to find a cheap used copy, because I've heard the single player version on the PC disk requires no DRM. I could care less about the multiplayer. Hopefully I can find somebody with it on Craigslist for like 5 bucks....

Is Mass Effect 1 on sale? I still need to get that....
