Would like to get all of us on the server at the same time, maybe this weekend? I'll talk to Scott and our buddy, and since Coz and Yrd are on my friendslist on Steam, I'll hopefully be able to organize something. I can also help you get it up and running correctly Coz.

Sounds fun. It will have to be 8pm central or later because I work fri, sat, sun day shift this weekend. I've also talked a buddy of mine into getting the game but he won't be ready by this weekend though.

Day Z is on Steam now. I haven't installed it yet myself, but my hope is that installation and updating is easier than the previous mess that was the stand-alone version. It's still free too as this isn't the retail version, just a repackage of the existing mod.

Standalone isn't even out. The previous version you speak of is just 'the mod' the version on steam is also just 'the mod' but installation has been an incredible ease with DayZ Commander, and it lets you install the mods of the mod and the other maps.

"Standalone isn't even out."

Correct. I was just making sure that people knew I wasn't saying that retail was now out on Steam. smile.gif

Me and a buddy just started playing this mod. Its pretty cool. We really haven't managed to make our way inland yet. We found a damaged vehicle and realized you can repair a bunch of aspects of the vehicle (tires, engine, windshield, fuel system, etc). We fixed up a 4x4 scrounging up parts in a factory area. Then we realized that you can store stuff on the vehicle. Found a bunch of jerry cans, filled the truck up, and then stored the full cans on the truck. Our next outing we will head inland somewhere and do some exploring. This mod would be even cooler if they can get the zombies to animate better and not act so buggy. Hopefully in the next version they will work these problems out. Fun mod so far.
