So I watched Back to the Future yesterday and it made me finally install all five episodes of the game. Just finished Episode 1, pretty fun so far.

I'M SO TIRED. I was up until like 1:30 AM last night. I lost nearly my entire weekend to this game (in a good way).

Can anyone guess what I was playing? tongue.gif

I've been playing Guacamelee for a few days now. Game is awesome. The platforming is solid and the combat is fun. There are a ton of secrets and funny references throughout.

I started playing Starcraft 2. I'm playing the AI to get a feel for it. I can beat the medium easily but hard wallops me. I have a lot to learn.

There are two things all SC players should know: You can group buildings too, not just units. And the unit build hotkeys. Make your unit production as simple as possible, so you can focus on the more important things, instead of clicking things one by one with the mouse.

Ex: group three barracks, assign to the 6 key. Even in the heat of battle, you can just hit 6 D D D, and three marauders will start immediately building each in their own barracks, without ever moving the camera away.

Still waiting for the download to finish, at 20GB it's taking a little while.

Edit: Also, Uplay is the worst. After a 18.7GB download that happened in three hours, I then had to wait another 15 minutes for Uplay to update itself... a 60MB program took 15 minutes to download and update.

The new voices for Sam is pretty annoying too. Sam Fisher used to be highly recognizable as soon as you heard him speak, and now he just sounds like any other guy on the team.

Also, while I appreciate Ubi's efforts to skip the title screens and throw me directly into the game (you literally pick a difficulty and then the opening cutscene starts), it turns out to be a pain in the ass. One, they've entirely misjudged PC gamers in general if they don't think most of us want to tweak all of the graphical settings beforehand. Secondly, and more importantly, when the cutscene finishes, it puts you into the tutorial... except even though the difficulty selection I chose was done so with the controller, when I finally get into the game, the controller is disabled and I have to re-connect my wireless keyboard in order to enable controller support in-game.

Picked up Saints Row 4 for $40 on GMG, haven't played much yet, though once Scott gets his installed, we'll be running it co-op, can't wait, had a blast with SR3 co-op

I'll probably pick it up later on if people like it. I lost my enthusiasm for the series after playing Conviction.

Ugh, not a fan of Grimsdottir's new voice actress either.

And I don't know what the hell was the problem with one button for lethal and another for non-lethal. Now you have to press and hold the D-pad, then press X to switch between lethal and non-lethal, and both options are the same button.

Finished Tomb Raider and Dishonoured recently, both were fantastic. Would've liked to have seen a bit more raiding of tombs in Tomb Raider though. smile.gif

Plan was to start Walking Dead next but it will not launch with my 360 pad on (anyone else have this trouble?), I guess it'll have to wait till I can find a decent wireless kb/m for the couch.

There's a dinput dll file that you need to put into the Walking Dead game folder for it to work.

Yup and we sure had a blast playing it last night. It's pretty ridiculous and over the top in a way that really works. Controls feel a lil better to me, especially the driving but maybe I'm just used to sh***y car in games anymore. rolleyes.gif C'mmmoooonnnn GTA5. biggrin.gif

Hmmm. Interesting. I had absolutely no issues playing TWD using a 360 controller and I didn't have to modify anything. Only just when I'd first boot the game up would it confuse the two inputs (360 pad and K+M). What I'd see is the keyboard ingame interface appear when the first dialog tree would appear and then disappear and return to a gamepad interface as soon as a selection was made. This would only happen once and only when the first ever action is taking place once the game has booted for the first time.

The first time right after release I played through TWD with a 360 controller, no issues. Second time only about a month or two ago (and an OS reinstall later), I had the crashing with the controller issue all the time, and the dinput8.dll file was necessary (might also be tied to Windows 8 according to the thread):

I had tried that a while back but couldn't get it to work, turns out I had been trying with the wrong version of dinput, it needed Win 7 RTM 32bit, go figure. Thanks a bunch!

I'm playing Witcher 2 right now and I'm really liking it, but I can't wait to finish it and get to Dark Souls. I played the PS3 version and am looking forward to the extra content, no slowdown and 1080p (after mods). But I'm not looking forward to dying...lots.

I just recently finished Witcher 2 and tried doing the arena, that thing drives me nuts. I couldn't get past like the 10th round on my best run.

I still have to finish my Dark Souls game. I got distracted by a bunch of others and never came back. I always lose motivation when I think about getting blasted by some guy that's built just for crushing other people.

I've been distracted lately by my Assassins Creed 3 on my xbox. The Last of Us I also played in the middle of my AC3 run. Finished that and back to AC3.

Next PC game after AC3 I think will be Kingdoms of Amalur, or Mass Effect 3.

Still waiting for new games like BF4 and some other DLCs. Currently World of Tanks has taken most (all) of my gaming time, plus many $$$. I've spent more money on this "FREE to PLAY" game then any other game I have ever played. Wasted a lot credits at the beginning because I didnt know how the in game transaction system worked. Sim not, arcade as hell but fun and addicting.

You do not stop playing because you get old...

So having played a little more SC: Blacklist, I'd say it's definitely an improvement from Conviction, but I wouldn't say it comes anywhere near Chaos Theory like some reviews suggest either.

Also a plus... there was apparently a recent Uplay update that launches directly from Steam Big Picture into the game without having to click anything on the mouse. ... Now I just can't fully exit to Steam without the mouse, which is progress. wink.gif

Played some blacklist tonight. I sort of dig it, I've never been crazy about splinter cell. But man, if this isn't one of the buggiest and most unstable games I've ever played. It crashes every time I finish a level, crazy graphics glitches in the airplane too.
