Man, tough to nail down 5 top all-time games!

In no order:

1) Pinball FX2/Pinball Arcade (tie)
2) Borderlands 2
3) Batman Arkham Asylum
4) Doom 3
5) Assassin's Creed series (2 might be the favorite, but all except Brotherhood have been very enjoyable)

Must mentions: Mario and Zelda for the joy they brought in the past, GTA for it's flawed brilliance, the Burnout series for crazy insane fun, Mirror's Edge is a near-perfect game, a couple of the Prince of Persia reboots, and maybe the Halo series.

I know I'm forgetting dozens of other favorites. tongue.gif

No pressure. I could list 50 I'm sure but the constraint forces the cream to rise. Just look at how you mention Halo in a PC thread.

I probably should put the Diablo series in my list. I've picked D3 back up, and I'm loving it as much as I did #2. Maybe more.

I ain't afraid to say it. I like D3 way better than D2. I guess that was my prob with torchlight, the mechanics are still exactly the same as d2. D3 encouraged you to experiment, d2/t2 punish you for not min/maxing.

Remember Me. Very nice looking and playing action adventure cyber punk game. Not sure why it didn't review well except it isn't a FPS or an indie darling. Kind of like Enslaved. My only gripe so far is the camera is a little too close.

@DarthRSG:

I am soooo with you on Enslaved. That rare gem ended up being one of my favorites on the Xbox 360. I simply loved everything about it. Totally fun to play. I plan to buy the DLC for it when XBL eventually selects it for XBLG Free. I'll play it again on the most difficult setting with the DLC. BTW...is Enslaved available for PC?

@YRD;
If you want to hear the absolute rockstar of gaming music...Buy Nier. It is the most spellbinding music I've ever heard in any game...in my life. It was just a haunting score. One that matched the tragedy of the game itself perfectly.

Yeah, the Enslaved Premium Edition came out in Oct. on Steam. I've had it in my wishlist, but now I regret not jumping on it during the Steam sale.

Oh well, it's only $20 - I'm curious to try it out.

If you like the Prince of Persia games with "Elika", Darksiders and Tomb Raider, you'll love this game. It's a gritty platformer with puzzles to solve along the way like those. Along with some similar story elements. It is loaded with a ton of well placed FPS action. And it is witty, funny and a lot of fun. I may get the premium version on Steam too, if it includes the DLC. It would be neat to play it again at true 1080p60..

Broken Age. If anyone is looking for a nice point and click adventure this is looking to be a good one. I've only played an hour of the boys story so far but I really like whats going on so far. You can switch to the girls story at anytime. I have not followed the development history of the game but seems it was an early kickstarter that made it possible. It's rather expensive at 25 bucks and it's not even finished. The other half of the game is supposed to be released later in the year for a free download.

Crysis 3 on PC...and still slogging my way through Kingdoms of Amalur on Xbox 360. They represent a great change of pace. And I will follow them up with Darksider's 2 on Xbox 360 (backlog) and Skyrim on PC for the same pacing. Question? Can you use the Xbox 360 controller for Skyrim on PC? Because I have the Xbox 360 version (brand new in my backlog). But will trade it at Gamestop for PC if I can use the X360 controller.

Skyrim works with the xbox 360 controller out of the box. But all the other Elderscroll games including Oblivion require some sorta button remapping to get them to work.

Bought Injustice: Gods Among Us on sale last week and just finished it. Best single player fighter mode ever. I have played more chats in this (due to the story mode forcing you) than any previous game.

Sadly I could not connect to anyone online... seems to be a common issue. I would pay $60 to play this online if it ever hits the One.

I have been playing loadout from steam for the past few nights And I am hooked it is loads of fun a mix between gears of war and team fortress. The weapon customizing is incredible, you can create all kinds of crazy weapons then test them on the range. Best part is its free!!!!! ...unless you want to buy different outfits, which helps pay the developers. Deffinately give this game a try!!!!smile.gif

There's options for KB only, Mouse only, KB+M, joysticks, I saw a gamepad option but idk if it will work immediately with a controller. But man the nostalgia this brings back, so much fun. I play KB+M and play it like an FPS, since that's really what it's like, just with 6DOF

I need to add .29 cents to my steam wallet and I can get that Descent. I can't find the spare change cup at the checkout screen. Have a penny leave one. Need a penny take one. frown.gif

I remember having all my fingers on the keyboard playing Descent. Needed a few extra fingers for all that moving around.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is badass. The single player campaign is really good (character models and voice acting is like a feature movie - Grim is sooo hot), and the co-op is a blast. The co-op is very similar to Splinter Cell: Vegas, which was awesome for co-op. The big difference is that Vegas was first person until you went into cover, where as Blacklist is 3rd person all the time. I prefer the Vegas combo of 1st and 3rd.
