Yeah, there's a room full of egg sacs where you have to survive an onslaught of those buggers before you can move on. I think that's the only place I really got stuck; it took me a few nights of many attempts each (and much keyboard pounding) to get past it .

Just finished Soma. It was very interesting story and good gameplay! If any of you are gonna play it be sure do not exit out of the game when the credits roll at the end. There is something special after. I can't say any more than that!

My next evening time game is Alan Wake: American Nightmare.

Have fun

I'll be heading back to DA-I this week, since I finished Singularity over the weekend. What an enjoyable game that was. Even though it was too short IMO. It needed at least 2-3 more chapters, so you could really be stretched with all of the powers, upgrades and enhancements accumulated during the game. In the end you get sort of God like powers...But don't really get to use them against formidable adversaries. But still, a delightful game...that is well worth the $7.49 it's selling for @ Steam this week. I sure hope DA-I picks up the pace for me. At least enough to hold my interest this time. Right now, I'm a little disappointed with it.

Get past the first act yet? Once you get out of the opening, it changes for the better.

Nope...I quit on it before...because I was playing as a lady magician. And she was pure dull. I plan to start completely over as the "Warrior Magi" I tend to do best as. And plow past that opening like you suggested. I hope you're right though. Because this game just looks like it has so much potential. But I'm still waiting to be smack gobbed across the face with it. But getting nothing but underwhelmed.

Separately: I almost pulled the trigger on an Acer x34 this week too. I can't swing that, a new GPU (AMD 390X) and Oculus Rift together this year. So I will pull the trigger on the 34" or 42" curved 4k monitor when I see the right price. And splurge for the best VR ready AMD GPU Bargain to pair it with. Then let the smoke settle a bit on VR before jumping in very late this year...probably 2017 though.

The one I just ordered is the X34, but I already have the hb271hu. I might sell that one if this one turns out ok.

I have a dual monitor arm, that I don't think will house both of these monitors together. It might, but I don't know how much space the x34 will take until I attach it and then see how the other arm can stretch with it. It might only work in portrait.

Edit, just showed up.

Well a little clouding on the top left. It OC'd to 100 though. I have to see if I can live with that cloud on black screen.

Another problem I have, the bottom screws, for some reason are shorter than the top two for monitor mounting. I can't screw the two bottom screws in all the way. I even tried the screws used for the mount it comes with, they are still too long. I'll have to find several washers to fix this.

The mount I have uses thumb screws to attach.

Give me a couple and I'll post up a pic.

Don't mind the clutter, it isn't there. Still my old dell on the second monitor arm. I'll switch it with the xb271 later, after I play a game with this thing.

Its looking really nice Yrd

Most LCD's have some milky backlight clouding anyway.

And I am sure the camera exposure is adding a little exaggeration to the picture. I am envious as I'm still using 16:10 LCD

Don't mind that either. I use a headset when I play games. My last pair of speakers went funny, and the bose still works, so it got re-purposed for my pc. It's a room with a projector screen on the wall to the left, with speakers mounted for 5.1. It's too small for anything more, and I can't have pc surround speakers going parallel to the mounted ones, that would be goofy.

Edit:

By the way, this monitor is totally engrossing. I love it. I've been playing the Division all week, and then plugged this monitor in and it's beautiful. I only get a few more days with it before I have to go back on the road for 3 weeks. I'm logging as many hours as I can.

Well this is my new gaming display, mines not curved but I have some clutter too (too dang many ps4/X1 controllers and no place to keep them).

Battlefront at 4K is amazing to see, add in Atmos audio and what an experience ... if only people actually still played it online (it's already dead on pc ).

Thanks, it's a work in progress but has been great fun so far. I've been playing on this setup in the media room so much that I have not even fired up the HT once in the last couple weeks (and I just did a full Atmos 7.3.4 + dual projection set-up in the HT). I'll be in the dog house soon...

Hi. I'm brand new to PC Gaming and wondering what a good first game might be to try out. I'm looking for a cheap game maybe 5-10 bucks just to see what my PC can do.
I'm thinking maybe tomb raider but it looks like that is $20.00 right now. Maybe I need to wait for a sale.

Any recommendations for racing games?

Portal 2 if you like first-person stuff. Batman Arkham Asylum if you like third-person stuff. While both games are over five years old- they're still good baseline tests for graphics capabilities. Torchlight 2 is a good action-RPG too.

Oh, it was! and its a PC only title which makes it special

It has a good soundtrack, which I even purchased the CD. The lighting and environment atmosphere is really good. The gameplay was alot of fun, I would have preferred a little more difficulty personally but sometimes and for some people just pushing consistently through the game is enjoyable. If I remember correctly you should get between 8-10hrs of play.

as for the demo, i wouldn't know. I don't play demos ... ever
