I just picked up the PC version of this game. I've only played it for about an hour so far, my initial impressions are quitw favorable. I never played the xbox version(because I don't have an xbox) so I can't compare, but 've read the PC version has some extra content.

There are supposed to be a few extra parts of the game to play through, and once you beat the game, you unlock a commentary mode where you can play through the game again this time listening to the directors commentary, much like DVD extras.

The game looks fantastic, every bit as good as Doom 3. It doesn't run as well as D3 on my system, unfortunately. The good news is the game supports widescreen resolutions I'd to post a few pics, but I can't cause I broke my digital camera over the holidays. I'll at lest try to put up a couple screenshots.

I'll have more to say as I play through the game.

It's fantastic on Xbox, I highly disagree. Especially for 14.99.

Its an AMAZING XBox game and I am sure it looks fantastic on PC. I am not sure how well its going to control though.. like Splinter Cel it relies on analog movement a great deal.

Almost every gaming website agrees that the PC version is the way the game should have been done.

Like the game so far.

I'm confused how I should set the aspect ratio. I'm playing on my HDTV running at 960x540. Should I set the aspect ratio to 'Normal' or try one of the '4:3-->16:9' settings or the like? These confuse me.

Here's a 4:3(960x720) res with the "Normal" aspect ratio setting.

Here's a 16:9(1280x720) res on the "Normal" setting:

And, finally, here's a 16:9 res on the "4:3--->16:9" setting:

What should I use for 16:9? If I leave the game set to "Normal" things tend to look right I think. "4:3--->16:9" looks squished horizontally.

The only way these settings make sense to me is if your trying to use a 4:3 res on a 16:9 monitor and have the monitor stretch the image. I've never seen this before. I'll post some more screens when I figure out how to properly run the game, lol.

I just finished replaying this game on the XBOX. I really enjoyed it, though it's way too short. Even with an added level and commentary, I wouldn't want to plop down $40-$50 for it. Obiously the resolution is much higher, but I'm curious how much extra texturing there is. Anyone play both versions yet?

Commentary? What a nifty idea! I wish other games would do the same.

Anyone got this to run smoothly on their PC? Just picked up this game the other day, several crashes right away. Thought it was just config tweaking needed, but now I'm running at only 1.4 shadow detail, everything turned down pretty far, no 3D or EAX, 1024X768 (to match my projector) and still get crashes/reboots every 5-10 minutes which is NOT the case with Doom3 or FarCry or anything else. Here's my specs:

AMD 3000+
asus a7n8x nforce2
1.5g RAM
9800 Pro

Any help is appreciated as it looks like a cool game. The Riddick game forum isn't much help.

I don't think this will help you, but after I changed the shader model from to 2.0++ to 2.0, the game ran smooth as butter.

Your hardware looks good, plenty of power to run the game well.

I have both the Xbox and PC versions here and the PC version is superior in every way IMO [ but then I do prefer m/kb to a controller for these type of games ] .

-- No problems playing the PC version here either , runs silky smoov ;) .
