Yes there are 100's of servers and about a dozen people from avs playing but I personally don't have AVS in my name within the BF2 game itself because I signed up before we started playing. Is there a way to change your nick within the BF2 game itself?

I'd love to say it's lightning fast but it seems from icon click to getting in an actual game is a very, vry long time compared to other games.

Not that I'm aware of. I had the same problem when I registered uous. I had to register AVS_uous as a different account, which unfortunately, requires a second e-mail.

I've been doing some more research on this issue, and some people are suggesting that it is a problem on the server side.

I was on one of the ninjaserve servers last night for about 3 hours straight and didn't get one crash.

The server had removed all of the stat counting at the end of the round, and when I asked why it was missing I was told that it was to avoid crashes.

Of course I might have just been luck last night, but it's at least a possibility...

I logged onto a laggy ranked server last night that was so sporadic that people weren't fighting, they where just chatting about how laggy/buggy/whatever the game was. Some people were saying it's the server software and a patch for the servers is in beta and coming soon, possibly Thursday. It should smooth a lot a things up.

On the other side, I've done enough on-line gaming to know that many people who have "knowledge" are full of crap....

Daver-

EA has released a press release stating that they are aware of the lag issues, and that a patch is indeed forthcoming:

Press release here:

http://www.eagames.com/official/batt...yupdate_062305

I'd like a patch for this buggy piece of crap which has now started crashing me to the desktop after my sound repeats, a NEW crash for me. It didn't use to do this. Thankfully I will be getting a new soundcard tomorrow.

When an episode of Walker Texas Ranger was aired in France, the French surrendered to Chuck Norris just to be on the safe side.

Is it a bad sign when you sit down at your office computer, and your index finger automatically positions itself on 'D' instead of 'F'?

I might have to reread the last couple emails... :p

I'm having the occasional crash as well. The fact that I'm enjoying the game so much despite the technical issues really shows what a great game it is.

If Xbox360 can port this same game over and have it relatively glitch free, I'll be all over that!

The tactic seems to be clear - the squad leader should hold back behind the assault team and should also be a medic to heal himself and others during battles.

I also played with someone who was a kick-ass heli pilot and we just flew from one unprotected base to another. Almost too easy!
I can fly pretty good when and if I can get a hold of a heli in a game. One funny time I was all alone protecting this base and this heli kept trying to take me out and finally they landed and I snuck around and surprisingly they both had gotten out and I proceeded to steal their heli and could see them trying to scramble back before I took off.
Of course I circled around and blew them to smithereens.

I need to figure out how to use the battle recorder. :D

It's supposed to be called 'modern combat'. I'm guessing it will be a slightly different game.

I'm in NJ and play on my community's server. Tonight we had about 6-7 AVSers on. It was some good ole fashioned fraggin at it's best. :D

You can find the IP to both of our servers over at www.ninjaserve.org

I was on Ninjaserve tonite.....fighting alongside Street and SayAnything.......and I can now say the only thing better than fighting alongside AVS'ers...is KILLING the traitorous enemy AVSers on the other team....

I just wish I could find a server that just had ONE MAP in its rotation for an evening..I'm still running around like a total n00b when the maps change, I think I've played each one..one round...maybe once or twice.....its rough! :P

Is anyone else noticing all the ranked servers completely full almost all the time?

Also, has anyone else notice that you can apply a "don't show full" filter and "only show ranked" filter... but with both of these selected it will still show all the full ranked servers?

It sounds like the ninjaserve might be the new future home for Team AVSers... I hope it doesn't get too popular so we can all get on during prime hours. I'll look for you guys on there soon. I'm the one running around with the medic kit. ;)

I've been playing exclusively on rank'd srvrs. Even if they say they are full keep trying and u'll get on. Just bounce back between a few and eventually u get on.

Well we had quit a few of us playing on the ninja server earlier tonight. It was a blast. Most of us AVS'rs were the top scorers. It was hard being the squad leader. It seemed like half the time I would stop to give orders, I would get picked off. Oh well, it was fun nonetheless. Unfortunately, I have to work the next 5 nights.

So what microphones are you all using? I'm looking for something with a mic only (not a complete headset - why earphones when I have surround speakers?). In the BF2 credits I spotted someone with a necklace type of thing with a mic sticking up. But I'm thinking of trying a throat-mic, like they use on real battlefields.
