Well I can't change the thread title since it was moved. Anyway there is a JVC SR-HD1500US and a Tascam BD-R2000, both overpriced, and the former maybe looks discontinued but still available a few places. Anyone tried these??

I guess the standalone DVD recorder concept is dead as far as blu ray discs are concerned right? I did see a Panasonic HDD recorder only sold in Japan.

I know I can do it with an HTPC and blu ray drive but no standalones exist? with an HDMI input? and yes, I know about HDCP etc.

One can still rip BDs to a computer given enough hd space.

Bluray recorders

Hi,

Newbie here, who is not too techy minded.

Am considering buying a new Bluray recorder, with scart connection. My question is: will the recorder be able to record from my Sky SD box, with scart input? If not, if I go through the RF input would that work.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Why Does Europe have 4 different Panasonic Blu-ray HDD Recorders

Hello everyone,

I would like to know why there are no Panasonic Blu-ray Recorders/Hard drive recorders for the american market. Just on Blu-ray alone there are 4 different models to choose from all with twin digital tuners and 1 or 2 Tb drives. The flagship model has three tuners. They also have DVD/HDD recorders with twin tuners also over there from Panasonic

http://www.panasonic.com/de/consumer.../recorder.html

I love Panasonic since the 70's, but it seems time to buy everything Samsung from now on. Deferentially the TV's.

Blu-Ray Recorder Using HDMI as source Input

Does anyone know if there is a Blu-ray recorder that will record from an HDMI output? IN other words does it have HDMI as a selectable input, so as to record directly from an HDMI source to Blu-ray disc? thanks all in advance

recording/copying is not allowed in HDCP. So I assume this doesn't exist?

Gerhard, I asked a local friend and he said, " a HDMI splitter strips the HDCP off" ?
