A friend of mine is making his big jump into HDM and was wondering what type of HDTV would be best to showcase Blu Ray? DLP, LCD or Plasma?
A projector is out of the question for him due to the fact he can't have a dedicated home theater room. So any and all input is appreciated. I personally prefer DLP myself but he wants expert opinions lol as he says.

Thanx in advance
Joel

Everyone has their own opinion as far as this is concerned. Go hang out on the TV forums. My suggestion is Pioneer and Panasonic plasmas. Plasma gives exceptional black level and very accurate color. Uniform brightness across the screen as well. Glare is a potential issue if you have tons of ambient light however.

Honestly though, any good TV will be a good showcase of Bluray.

New laser dlp's are coming out .
I like the Toshiba 65" rear projection dlp . But the bulbs need replacing ...

Another consideration is to get a used CRT . I bought a Sony xrb WEGA/700 40" .Cheap.
It is very nice , but hardly need blu-ray or hd as its picture is very good w/internal upscaling...

Also crt front projection , but as you mentioned they thrive in the dark . Much light
is not pretty !!

keep at it , results are worth it !!

Please research in the TV/display forums. Thanks.
