I've had the 2550 for a couple of weeks now, and my impressions are a mixed bag. This is my first BD player, so maybe they're all screwy, but some of these things are really getting on my nerves. I have the latest 2.4 firmware installed, and am hooked into a Pioneer 1018 receiver and Sanyo Z4 projector. I have the audio set to bitstream audiophile and video to 1080i.
Playing CD's it regularly STOPS the disc entirely after a few seconds of play. Restarting it will resume the disc indefinitely so far.
Lots of audio drops on BD and SD DVD discs when changing chapters, layer changes, menu's, etc. This is bothering me worse than anything else.
Seems to produce small 'pops' or 'tick' sounds in the audio every now and then.
The picture on this thing is amazing though, BD and SD DVD's. It also seems to load very fast, pretty much as quick as most DVD players I've used.
Is anyone else experiencing these same issues? Is there a workaround other than returning it and getting a different BD player (PS3, Panny 55)?
