bummer. So does anyone have an .iso of good FW for this before I give up on it?

Would really like to have a functional BDP with good component outputs, this is the only one I have

Softpedia seems to have some files, if you trust them.

http://drivers.softpedia.com/dyn-sea..._term=bd-p2550

I don't know that it really needs updating, looking back through the posts, it seems like folks didn't necessarily recommend updating to 2.8 unless there was a specific disc problem...

If I have time this week, I'll look through some old CD to see if I ever burnt one to CD and kept it.

Well, the issue I'm having is I can't get on my home network, figured I would try updating the FW before giving up on it.

They are not: the 2550 was a "custom" variant for Best Buy that added Pandora in addition to Netflix...which is one of the reasons I bought it (it was a bit ahead of it's time on the app front).
I think firmware v2.7 was the last version I ever ran; I don't remember that v2.8 "fixed" anything.

Wow... the discussion of my player (BD-P2550) was the last one in this thread...!

So I just purchased a used Oppo BDP-95 which among other things will in fact output 1080i over component, and it's time to clean out the gear closet of all those old players that I've kept around because they will do one specific task that none of the others will (I think the Oppo literally does everything that the whole gear pile will do save for playing HD-DVDs)

However, I never found an .iso (or USB version) of the latest firmware for this guy.

Anyone still have one squirreled away? Would appreciate giving this one last try before consigning it to the scrap heap. I'd rather sell it to someone for next to nothing functional than toss it, because that's how I am.

thanks!
