To my eyes, and I spent a few hours going over the same scenes again and again - I could find no real difference between the PQ of regular DVD's on both the 2550 or the S350. And as both play BD's, and both bistream (I have the Onkyo 805 that decodes), the PQ of regular DVD's was what I was now basing my choice on. And the 2550 was not THAT much better to justify the higher cost.
Also, Kage mentions, like I did earlier, that the info screen on the 2550 paled compared to the S350, which was actually quite similar to the same on the PS3 I have. Though it might not seem like much of a big deal, it is nice to have that information when you may be testing your system for all sorts of settings and such.
And, seeing as the S350 will be lowered in price by $100 around late September (and still within my price match time limit with BB), as well as the S550 will now be lower - then again the 2550 pales in comparison.
But these are my thoughts and gut feelings, mileage may vary for others, and with different HT components. So my needs are never the same as anyone else's.
