With so many HD movies available on demand on services like Verizon Fios (great quality) is the future really Blu Ray or is it pointed more towards downloads in great HD quality from service providers like Fios?

i believe that we will see an increase of people streaming HD content from the internet. but there will be a select group of people (like my self) who actually like to own the actual content on a Disk. thus said i believe it will co-exists.

Having worked for a major ISP, I don't see the future as streaming... at least not anytime soon. There simply isn't enough bandwidth to go around and facilitate a transition to HD VOD.

Further, the current business model for the ISPs doesn't allow for the infrastructure overhauls that would be necessary to get there.

OP, you need to start using the search engine. Many of the threads you start are generic topics that have been covered many times before or you post in the wrong forum. I would suggest you review the forum descriptions and try the search engine first before posting.
