Bobbarry,

The NS-2BRDVD does not support AVCHD directly. The newer models NS-BRDVD4, the NS-BRDVD3, and the NS-WBRDVD2 will read your AVCHD formatted DVD.

The NS-2BRDVD needs your DVD to be in Blu-ray format. It needs a CERTIFICATE folder with a BACKUP folder in it and in the BDMV folder you need to add AUXDATA, BDJO, JAR, and META folders. These folders are empty. You must burn the DVD in UDF 2.5 format.

You can also:

Use multiavchd (http://www.multiavchd.deanbg.com) to create a Blu-ray format of your AVCHD.

Use Imgburn (http://www.imgburn.com/) to burn to DVD-R or DVD+R the BDMV and the CERTIFICATE folders. Be sure to set UDF to 2.5 in Imgburn before burning.

I would recommend you use a DVD+RW to test this on before you burn to DVD+/- R.

Wondering if anyone has the firmware from the beginning of 2011. I updated to the firmware from Jun 2011 as soon as I received it, and downloaded the previous firmware that was linked in case I wanted to backout, but I somehow managed to download the wrong firmware (the one with -CA in its model). The one I want is no longer available from Insignia because they only keep the last 2 versions and there are at least 2 new versions since then. I need the older firmware so that I can enable the region unlock menu. Thanks a lot in advance.
