Video Specifications
  • Analog Video: Composite, Component Video (Y/Pb/Pr, 480i/480p, 720p/1080i available for non-restricted content; up to 1080i Blu-ray)
  • Digital Video: HDMI with HDCP (NTSC: 480i/480p/720p/1080i/1080p/1080p24, PAL 576i/576p/720p/1080i/1080p/1080p24)
  • ABT2010 de-interlacing and scaling solution (HDMI only)
  • 30 and 36bit Deep Color support

Audio Specifications
  • Analog Audio: 7.1ch or 5.1ch, Dedicated Stereo.
  • D/AC: Two-channel Cirrus CS4398 DAC for Discrete Stereo; Eight-channel CS4382A DAC for Multi-Channel Analog.
  • Digital Audio: Coaxial, Optical
  • HDMI Audio: Stereo to 7.1ch.
  • Bit stream and internal decoding of Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, and DTS-HD Master Audio for HDMI and Analog.
  • SACD DSD bit stream over HDMI or straight to analog; SACD DSD to PCM conversion over HDMI and analog.

Media Compatibility
  • Disc Types: BD-Video, DVD-Video, AVCHD, DVD-Audio, SACD, CD, HDCD, Kodak Picture CD, CD-R/RW, DVD±R/RW, DVD±R DL, BD-R/RE
(Compatibility with user-encoded contents or user-created discs is on a best effort basis with no guarantee due to the variation of media, software and techniques used.)
  • BD Profile: BD-ROM version 2 Profile 2 (also compatible with Profile 1 version 1.0 and 1.1). 1GB of Internal Storage; External Storage expandable through USB.
  • Dual USB Ports (One in back; one front) for video, audio, picture, and BD-Live expandability.

Unique or Optimized Features
  • PS3 caliber load speeds for BD-Java enabled discs.
  • Resolution, Picture and Audio adjustments can be performed on the fly.
  • Discrete Output Resolution: You can force the player to always output a 480i/p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p 50/60Hz, and 1080p/24Hz (DVD-Video and Blu-ray) video signal.
  • Source Direct: This allows the player to intelligently and automatically change the video output resolution of the player based off of the content source. For example, SD DVD will playback at 480i, Blu-ray will play back at 1080p/24Hz, and DVD-Audio and SACD will playback at 1080i (to ensure maximum audio bandwidth is available). This is ideal for people who use external scalers or do not want the BDP-83 to do any video de-interlacing and scaling.
  • Video Demo Mode: Splits the screen vertically with one half showing the original source image, while the other half shows the results of adjustment to the Edge Enhancement, Detail Enhancement and Noise Reduction controls.
  • Up to 1920x1080 native MPEG-2, AVCHD, MKV and DivX/XviD video support; JPEG and PNG picture support.
  • Fully back-lit remote control
  • Anamorphic lens compatible with constant height Zoom. Other Zoom modes identical to DV-983H
  • Think the BDP-83 is decoding and/or transporting the Lossy Core and not the ideal High Resolution Dolby Digital TrueHD or DTS-HD Master audio streams? Now you can verify this! When you press the "INFO" button on the remote control and look at the icon in the lower left hand corner of your television, if the symbol is a jagged waveform icon, then the player is currently using the Lossy Core for audio decoding and/or transportation. When the player is decoding and/or transporting the High Resolution audio stream the icon should appear as three overlapping circles

General Specifications
  • Power Supply: Power Supply: ~ 100V – 240V, 50/60Hz AC
  • Power Consumption: 35W (0.5W Standby)
  • Dimensions: 430mm x 336mm x 77mm, 16⅞ x 13¼ x 3 inches
  • Mass: 5.1kg / 11.2 lbs
  • Region Enforcement: DVD Region 1 (non-adjustable) and Blu-ray Region A (non-adjustable) Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)Spoiler
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)The BDP-83 will support DVD Region 1 and Blu-ray Region A only. The Blu-ray Disc Association does not allow OPPO to support any region unlocking capabilities, even for DVD-Video playback.

As Blu-ray is a relatively new platform, OPPO wants to make sure they can sell Blu-ray players for many more years to come. They do not want to implement or excise any content control which could jeopardize their standing with the Blu-ray Disc Association.

These restrictions are non-negotiable. Do not discuss them in the forums.

Release date: March 29, 2010
Category: Public Beta Version
Main Version: BDP83-50-0323B
Loader Version: BE2690 or BT0390
Sub Version: MCU83-27-0326
Release Notes:

This public beta version works for both the standard BDP-83 and the BDP-83 Special Edition. Comparing to the official release version BDP83-48-1224, the major changes included in this version are:

1. When there is no disc playing, the player shows the OPPO background screen instead of the "Home Menu". The "Home Menu" can be accessed by pressing the "Home" button on the remote control.
2. Improvement to MKV compatibility. Some MKV files do not play or play with severe video artifacts when using previous firmware. This version improves the playback of such files.
3. Some users have reported hearing pops or crackles between SACD tracks. This issue happens to certain discs that have data frames that are not aligned with track boundaries. This version removes such pops or crackles.
4. Other general disc compatibility improvement based on recent and upcoming Blu-ray releases as well as user-submitted disc samples.

Release date: May 5, 2010
Category: Latest Official Release
Main Version: BDP83-50-0424
Loader Version: BE2710 or BT0410
Sub Version: MCU83-27-0326
Release Notes:

1. Traditional splash screen.
3. Fix for the SACD pops/crackles issue. Some users have reported hearing pops or crackles between SACD tracks. This issue happens to certain discs that have data frames that are not aligned with track boundaries. This version removes such pops or crackles.
4. Revision of the RS-232 control protocol. If the player is equipped with the RS-232 wired control option, the new protocol adds three verbose modes to enable command echo back, automatic status update and automatic program counter update. For a complete list of RS-232 protocols please refer to the OPPO BDP-83 RS-232 Control Protocol V2 document.
5. Improved volume control function for the analog audio output. Volume control was previously implemented using the DSP (Digital Signal Processor). This version utilizes the DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) chips to perform volume control. This change brings the following benefits:
* Fix for the subwoofer hum that happens when the player's volume is set to less than 100 while outputting SACD in DSD format over HDMI
* Volume control in DSD mode for SACD. Previously volume control does not work for DSD mode. With this version, all analog audio outputs of the BDP-83SE and the dedicated stereo output of the BDP-83 can apply volume control in DSD mode.
6. Fix for a compatibility issue with Sherwood Newcastle R774 A/V receiver. The issue was no audio signal over HDMI when playing a CD.
7. Other general disc compatibility improvement based on recent and upcoming Blu-ray releases as well as user-submitted disc samples.
8. Minor changes to BD-Live and BD-Java behavior. Erasing the persistent storage from the setup menu now erases both downloaded BD-Live contents and Java-based bookmarks. BD-Live access is set to off after resetting factory default settings. If you prefer to have BD-Live access, please turn it on from the setup menu.

Release date: August 24, 2010
Category: Public Beta Version
Main Version: BDP83-52-0816B
Loader Version: BE2731 or BT0431
Sub Version: MCU83-27-0326
Release Notes:

1. A small number of Blu-ray discs with Dolby TrueHD audio exhibit a momentary audio drop-out issue if the player is connected to an A/V receiver via HDMI and bitstream is selected as the HDMI Audio format. This version fixes the issue.
2. Certain SACD discs with many short tracks or with a long track following several short tracks can cause the player to freeze during playback. This version fixes the issue.
3. The previous firmware version displays the time counter slightly too fast when playing SACD. This version fixes the issue.
4. Support for LPCM audio streaming over home network is restored. The previous firmware did not carry this feature over from older versions. Please note that home network streaming is an experimental feature. You will need a computer running UPnP or DLNA streaming server software that can support transcoding to LPCM in order to use this feature.
5. Fix for the issue of incorrect video size when playing some Blu-ray discs, such as “Patton”.
6. Other general disc and media file compatibility improvement based on recent and upcoming Blu-ray releases as well as user-submitted samples.

Known Bug:
1. SACD snaps, crackles, and pops between audio tracks are re-introduced into the firmware. There is no solution other than reverting to the previous 50-0424 Firmware.
2. Incorrect Aspect Ratio for external media. If the "Primary Output" is set to HDMI and the Aspect Ratio is set to "16:9 Wide/Auto", then the player will pillarbox all external media.
a. The solution is to either set Primary Output to "Component" or TV Aspect Ratio to "16:9 Wide" under Video Setup. Note: setting Primary Output to "Component" will degrade DVD picture performance.

Release date: February 1, 2011
Category: Public Beta Version
Main Version: BDP83-54-0130B

Release Note:

1. Certain SACD discs with many short tracks or with a long track following several short tracks can cause the player to freeze during playback. This version fixes the issue. The crackles and pops that happened occasionally between tracks on some discs are also eliminated.
2. Fix for the issue of incorrect video size when playing some Blu-ray discs, such as "Patton", "Time Bandits" and "Date Night".
3. A small number of Blu-ray discs with Dolby TrueHD audio exhibit a momentary audio drop-out issue if the player is connected to an A/V receiver via HDMI and bitstream is selected as the HDMI Audio format. This version fixes the issue.
4. Support for LPCM audio streaming over home network is restored. The previous firmware did not carry this feature over from older versions. Please note that home network streaming is an experimental feature. You will need a computer running UPnP or DLNA streaming server software that can support transcoding to LPCM in order to use this feature.
5. The previous firmware version displays the time counter slightly too fast when playing SACD. This version fixes the issue.
6. Other general disc and media file compatibility improvement based on recent and upcoming Blu-ray releases as well as user-submitted samples.

Things still broken:
1. BD-LIVE and Persistent Storage Corruptions: This will be fixed in another firmware release. OPPO has isolated the cause of these errors and is committed to eradicating them.
2. Incorrect Aspect Ratio for MKV Files: The player will still not properly display 4:3 MKV media correctly. Set Primary Output to "Component" to resolve this error.
3. Non-Locked 24Hz MKV Treated as 1080i: This too will hopefully be corrected.
4. DLNA still does not support DivX/XviD streaming.
5. Toy Story 3's 7.1 DTS-HD Master soundtrack is still decoded incorrectly.

Known Bug: MKV files which are not exactly 16:9 may show up as the incorrect aspect ratio.
6. Quieter laser head movement for CD playback.
7. Other general disc and media file compatibility improvement based on recent and upcoming Blu-ray releases as well as user-submitted samples.

Known Bug: MKV files which are not exactly 16:9 may show up as the incorrect aspect ratio. The solution is to set Primary Output to "Component" to force the decoder to perform the aspect ratio controls. Note: setting Primary Output to "Component" will degrade DVD picture performance, so you will want to set Primary Output back to "HDMI" whenever you watch DVD-Videos.

1. Resolved the disc loading issue reported on several recently released DVD movies. These DVD discs come with their Blu-ray package and sample titles include "True Grit", "Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon" and "Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides". The reason for this issue is related to the new anti-copy strategy implemented on these DVDs which keeps BDP-83 searching for non-existing contents. This problem has been solved.
2. Other general disc compatibility improvement based on recent and upcoming releases. Sample titles included "Rory Gallagher: Live in Montreaux (DVD)", "Avatar" (Blu-ray included in the Panasonic 3D Kit Bundle), "OTAKU (DVD)", "Fantasia 2000 (BD, European version)", "Alban Berg Quartet: Beethoven String Quartets, Vol. 1 (DVD-A)" and "Live! 1. Resolved the random image freezing issue observed on several Warner Brothers Blu-ray movies. The problem happens when "BD-Live Network Access" is set to "ON" in the player's setup menu. Sample titles include "Sex and the City 2 (BD, 2011)" and "Inception (BD, 2011)". This issue has been resolved in this release.
2. Resolved the loading failure issue observed on several recently-released Blu-ray series, including "Fringe" (Season 3, 2011), "Chuck" (Season 4, 2011), "Dexter" (Season 5, 2011), "Star Wars" and "Lord of the Rings". Normally, these movies can be played with no problems when initially loaded. However, if disc playback has been stopped or the disc ejected, the disc would fail to load again the next it is played. The TV would get a black screen and the front panel display would remain at 00:00:00. The cause of this error is related to the discs' resume function implemented in BD-Java. This firmware properly handles the resume function.
3. Other general disc compatibility improvement based on recent and upcoming releases. Sample titles include "Contagion (BD, 2012)" and "Mildred Pierce (BD, 2012)".

1. Resolved a disc loading failure issue with the "X-Men: Days of Future Past (BD)" released by 20th Century Fox.Customers reported that after inserting the Blu-ray disc, the player would report "Wrong Disc" error and eject the disc. This is caused by the new "BD+" protocol (or Digital Rights Protection system) applied to this title which requires longer decryption time than the value allowed by the player. This firmware adjusted the decryption time and resolved this issue.

FIRMWARE INSTRUCTIONS

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) Spoiler
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) We would like to thank you for the tremendous feedback that we have received from the community in response to our first BDP-83 Blu-ray player notification update. There were many great comments, suggestions and concerns which we will try to address in the release of the BDP-83. In particular, we would like to address the Early Adoption Program.

We have decided to take a democratic, by-the-people approach to the implementation of the Early Adoption Program. For the initial batch we will randomly choose 50 customers to participate in the Early Adoption Program. These 50 customers will have the opportunity to purchase the BDP-83 for $499 before the official release. After using the player for about a week, they will be required to vote on whether the program should be expanded or suspended based on end-user experiences. If a supermajority (at least 70%) votes in favor of expanding the program, we will expand the Early Adoption Program by another 100 randomly chosen customers. The player will be shipped with a pre-production firmware version. Firmware updates will be available from time to time.

The initial 50 Early Adoption Customers will be chosen no later than February 25th using the random number generator at random.org. After being contacted by us, the customer must place the order no later than 3pm February 27th Pacific Time; otherwise the opportunity to participate will be passed on to another customer. A simple "Yes" or "No" vote on whether to expand the program needs to be cast no later than March 15th.

Terms and conditions for the Early Adoption Program, as well as the current program status, can be found at our web site:
http://www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-bdp-83/EAP.aspx

We would also like to take this time to update you on the status of BDP-83 developments. The last two months have been very fruitful, as the player now supports BD-Live (Profile 2.0) and can internally decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio formats. DVD-Audio has yet to be implemented through firmware, but we are working diligently on this feature. A preliminary features and specifications list will be available on our web site on Tuesday March 3rd.

Opt-Out:

If you are still interested in receiving communications about the BDP-83 and participating in the Early Adoption Program, no further action is necessary. Otherwise, please click on the SafeUnsubscribe link below to decline participation and to opt out of any further e-mail communications regarding the BDP-83.

This is not a marketing gimmick, nor is OPPO intentionally trying to make the unit hard to procure. OPPO takes product development very seriously, and they do not want to release a player to the public at large if it will not meet the expected standards of its customer's. The biggest issue we have seen with the release of Blu-ray players are incomplete products. Many players have been released in a “beta states”. That is, they have been released with features being completely missing (ex. Decoding of DTS-HD Master), features requiring additional purchases (ex. External memory for BD Live), or just not living up to the potential of the brand.

The general public at large should never be unwilling participants of a "beta" product. For this reason, OPPO has decided to limit the BDP-83 to a randomly selected, willing group of individuals to use the player before it is officially released. Their feedback will help OPPO gauge how viable the player is for a major, official release.

This thread is dedicated to the Early Adoption Program BDP-83, its users, and the people who are looking for end user experiences.

Is the Early Adoption Program a beta test program?

No. The Early Adoption Program is not a beta test program. The beta test for BDP-83 has been an ongoing processes for the past several months. Beta test participants are exchanging information with OPPO and other beta users through a private forum on AVS (I spoke with OPPO and they would like to extend their deepest of gratitudes to AVS Forum for hosting the private discussion forum for the beta testers. It has proved invaluable to the development of the player).

The Early Adoption Program is a market trial to see how viable the player is to the current market.
How Much is the Early Adoption Program BDP-83?

Early Adoption Program units will be sold for $499. The Official player will also sell for $499 when it is released.
When Did the Early Adoption Program Start?

The Early Adoption Program started Wednesday, February 25th.
How Long Will the Early Adoption Program Run?

The Early Adoption Program will run until the product is officially released. OPPO anticipates releasing the official BDP-83 in May to priority orders culled from the Blu-ray Interest List . There has been no established purchase date for general public sales.
Who Can Participate in the Early Adoption Program?

The Early Adoption Program participants will be randomly selected from customers who signed up for the BDP-83 Blu-ray Notification List . At this time only customers in the contiguous United States are eligible.
How Many People Will Be Accepted Into the Early Adoption Program?

50 participants were selected and notified that they could purchase the player on Wednesday, February 25th. 300 additional participants will be selected after a positive vote on March 15th, with participants receiving invitation e-mails Monday, March 16. Each additional expansion will at least double the previous expansion roster.
How Does the Early Adoption Program Work?

Customers invited into the Early Adoption Program will have a 2-Day purchase window to buy the BDP-83 for $499, otherwise the unit will be forfeited to the next eligible candidate. Participating users will be required to vote on whether the Early Adoption Program should be expanded or suspended based on their experiences. A simple "Yes" or "No" vote will be conducted at milestone markers (the first being March 15th). If a supermajority (at least 70%) votes in favor of expanding the program, the Early Adoption Program will be expanded upon.

If, for any reason, the Early Adoption Program is not capable of running as planned by reason of infection by computer virus, worms, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which, in the sole opinion of OPPO Digital, Inc., could corrupt or affect the administration, integrity or proper conduct of this Early Adoption Program, OPPO Digital, Inc. reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Program. IN NO EVENT WILL OPPO DIGITAL, INC., ITS LICENSEES, AND OR AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES AND RELATED COMPANIES, THEIR ADVERTISING OR PROMOTION AGENCIES OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS, BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THIS EARLY ADOPTION PROGRAM.

Unique or Optimized Features
  • PS3 caliber load speeds for BD-Java enabled discs.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) Spoiler
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) The BDP-83 will support DVD Region 1 and Blu-ray Region A only.

Feature Requests
  • APE, FLAC, and WAV lossless; WMA and AAC lossy audio support.
  • Adjustable Crossover. The crossover is either an all-or-nothing 80Hz. We would like to see 40 to 120Hz crossover support.
  • Audio Delay over analog. Audio Delay is currently only available over HDMI. There is concern that analog users will experience down stream video delays which will cause audio/video synchronization errors.
  • Audio Bit Rate and Frequency information. Current implementation only shows Audio Track selected. Having bit rate and frequency information will help determine if we are getting lossless or lossy audio when the BDP-83 is decoding Dolby Digital TrueHD and DTS-HD Master.
  • Internal Test Tones for properly calibrating analog audio outputs as well as testing proper audio output.
  • User Presets. User Presets would allow for multiple changes to the player with a single selection. Saves time adjusting individual sliders to meet specific feature requirements.
  • Network (PC to BDP-83, NAS Storage to BDP-83) and Internet Streaming (Netflix, Amazon.com VOD) support.
  • HDMI CEC should be Off by Default. Too many problems associated with leaving HDMI CEC on as a default. Will only increase number of support calls, e-mails, and posts with people assuming their player is defective as it "randomly" turns on or off.

Release date: April 6, 2009

Category: Latest Preliminary Release

Main Version: BDP83-18-0402

Loader Version: BE2100 85752100

Sub Version: MCU83-19-0122

Release Notes:

The major changes included in this version are:

1. Improved DVD-Audio Support.

This firmware version improves the preliminary support for DVD-Audio playback. Disc compatibility issues have been largely improved, although certain discs still have playback and navigation difficulties. It also fixes a problem of outputting DVD-Audio over HDMI when the "HDMI Audio" setup menu option is set to "Bitstream" mode. We are accelerating the implementation and will provide improvements with future firmware updates.

The "Playback Setup" menu now contains a "DVD-Audio Mode" setting. This settings enables the user to set a preference for which portion (DVD-Audio or DVD-Video) of a disc to play. For some DVD-Audio discs that contain concurrent multi-channel and stereo contents, this firmware version supports on-the-fly switching between the two modes with the "AUDIO" button. Playback restarts from the beginning of the current track. Not all DVD-Audio discs support this feature though. The channel number and bit rate display are improved.
2. Fix for a decoding error on some DTS-HD Master Audio sound tracks. For example, the 7.1ch DTS-HD MA audio on "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" disc now plays correctly.

3. Fix for an audio drop-out issue that happens when decoding some Dolby TrueHD sound tracks. For example, the drop-out with the "Divertimenti" Blu-ray track 5 is fixed.

4. Fix for a progressive audio/video synchronization problem. With the previous firmware, audio/video synchronization may progressively degrade as the movie plays. This version addresses the issue. We are still in the process of further improving audio/video synchronization, especially for DVD playback in 1080p 24Hz mode.

5. Fix for a disc menu rendering issue related to "Superbit" DVD with minimalist style menus.

6. Fix for an SACD disc compatibility issue that so far affects "Sonny Rollins – Saxophone Colossus" and "Dance with the Wolves" SACD discs.

7. Other general disc compatibility and performance improvements.

3. Fix for the issue of playing DTS CD slower than normal.

4. Slow motion playback support for Blu-ray discs with Java-based navigation. To use slow motion playback, pause the video first and then press the left or right arrow button.

5. Fix for a Dolby TrueHD audio drop-out issue that affects the "Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds: Live at Radio City Music Hall" disc.

6. Fix for a video corruption issue that happens when switching off Deep Color from the setup menu, or when turning on the player with Deep Color set to "Off" but the player is connected to a Deep Color-capable display.

Yes, I got my acceptance email about 15 minutes ago..

Quote:
Dear Daniel xxxxxx,

We would like to cordially invite you to participate in the BDP-83 Early Adoption Program. You are one of the 50 potential customers randomly selected to receive this invitation from the list of users interested in the Early Adoption Program.

I'd copy the whole thing but I don't see the point.

PS Just wanted to add that there is a link that is specific for those that are chose on where we purchase it. I guess we aren't calling it in just doing it online.

I just used my "special" link for ordering about 5 minutes ago. Nice that they include an HDMI cable (not that I need another one).

A quick Internet search didn't turn up the exact Anchor Bay processor Marantz is using, but the BDP-83 uses the same processor as the DVDO Edge, which has gotten high praise, particularly given it's price point.

Howdy y'all...

I am in the early adopter program!!!

Well, I guess buying that Oppo DV-970 for my girlfriend 2 years ago paid off...

WHOOO-HOO!!!!

Time to see what Oppo really has up their sleeve and do some serious comparisons to the following units...

1. Samsung DVD-HD1000

2. Denon DVD-3930ci

3. Sony Playstation 3 (FW 2.60) (60-gig made in Japan unit)

These units are in two different systems, one with a Sony KV-34XBR960 (Sony's heaviest glass ever) and the other using a Samsung LN-55A950D1 (LED backlit).

If you (being the AVS Forum community) have questions you can PM me directly or if you are in Southern California, perhaps a visit to see it in action.

Cheers!!!

Good god no: if that were the case the Oppo 983H wouldn't have been the legend it became! From what I can see, the Marantz AV8003 contained only the video scaling ABT1010 chip, whereas the 983 (and I can only assume the BDP-83) had the top-of-the-line ABT2010 which includes deinterlacing and all the other ABT magic. I think you can now see why the reviews of the Marantz criticized its 480i upsampling performance.

And yes, I know the first 983s had the ABT1010 + 102 combo which was fused into a single 2010 chip in later production versions. The combo and 2010 setups were equivalent as far as the 983 was concerned.

Yes. The implementation is very similar as well, mostly the same features.

Suffice it say that only Oppo 983 owners can appreciate this hardware until the -83 is available. DVD PQ is equal or better than the 983. Some of the beta crew feel it's slightly better. I'm one of them. Of course the added features in the -83 implementation make it a clear winner over the 983.

"Program should be expanded or suspended based on their experiences. A simple "Yes" or "No" vote will be conducted at milestone markers (the first being March 15th). If a supermajority (at least 70%) votes in favor of expanding the program, the Early Adoption Program will be doubled."

What happens if it doesn't get 70%? What votes, percentages or criteria will determine when the 83 is available for the general population to buy?

Congrats to all of those members that were luckyenough to be drawn.

Hope you guys like this player and give it a "YES" vote when the time comes.

That way maybe the rest of us that have been eagerly awaiting this unit since September of 2008 will get another chance.

Again congratulations and no hard feelings??????
