Hi,

I am looking for a Blu-Ray player that supports Video CD (VCD) playback. I have some VCDs (mostly from Asia where VCDs are still common). I have checked Pioneer BDP-51FD and my current Blu-Ray player Samsung 2500. Both these players don't support VCD playback. I know that Sony Blu-Ray players do not support VCD playback.

Could anyone please let me know whether any Blu-Ray player supporting VCD playback?

Thanks,
iKNOWN

Best guess (this is not a promise): in two or three weeks the final price and availability will be announced and OPPO will start taking orders. How long before all the early orders are shipped, I don't know.

Weird that oppo's website doesn't mention they support it, especially if they're the only bd player offering this you'd think they'd at least list it under supported discs. But still, paying twice as much as store brands just to play VCDs seems ridiculous.. especially considering a cheap dvd player will play em... although I did see that play pal dvds, which is another bonus, I've got a few of those...
