Not sure what you mean by auto shut down, but I had a problem with my LG players throwing errors seemingly randomly, when trying to play videos via DLNA. Each time, I would have to navigate back to the media I wanted to play from the main menu. I use Serviio and the Serviio team noted issues with the way LG players interacted with the server which they could not resolve. After my BD670 started having trouble playing discs, I bought a Sony player and found its DLNA functionality to be rock solid with Serviio. So much so, that I bought a second one to replace my BD570 as well even though the player was generally functioning.

Literally I pick dlna from the menu and boom, the power just shuts off; Otherwise everything else on the player works. Its quite odd. Ive done all resetting etc. its a very odd glitch, yet on the lg forum several people had it happen (of course I notice this years after I bought it).

any fix for the DLNA issue?

Has anyone found a resolution for the DLNA shutdown problem? I have an LG BD590 which works fine with Microsoft's DLNA. But, when I installed Plex Media Server the problems started. As soon as I go to the homelink menu link, the LG BD590 says goodbye and shuts down. If I stop the PMS software on my PC, the LG then returns to normal. I need Plex to support an Amazon Firestick in another room.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

thanks,

Charley

I noticed the same thing. It shuts down with plex running. Only thing that fixes for me is uninstalling it.

A little bit of an old post but.. What format are the files in? Couldn't you just have the BD590 connect to a shared folder where the files are stored and play them that way? i.e. not use Plex... Its how I do it on my BD570...

On my "server PC" I have Plex configured to serve up a Movie Folder to my plex clients on my son's Fire TV Stick, my Fire TV (box) in the bed room, my iPad and Android phone. I also have windows file sharing setup to share that same movie folder to the network. Then SPMC on my Fire TV (box) and my BD570 and BD390 players just directly access that shared folder to play the files without touching Plex.

Is there a problem with latest firmware?

I have an LG bluray player that says that there is an update available and I held off when I saw this.

Well, any day now YouTube (in netcast) will stop working because YouTube is discontinuing their older API. YouTube can only continue to work on this player if there is a firmware update to support that - that's not likely to happen. If you go to YouTube now, the first video listed says that this device is not compatible with the new API - thus it's bye-bye once the old API is shut down (starting April 20th - ending who knows when).

Hello everyone! I have the LG BD570 and because of the recent update of youtube, it stopped working. Is there any way to re-enable youtube? (I saw some posts about downgrading making it work?) Thanks in advance!

Hi guys.
Our bd570 started to randomly power itself off while watching Netflix, so we figured it was finally time for a replacement.

After 4 purchases and returns to two electronic stores, I think I can safely say that 2015 consumer BD players suck.

Even in it's dying state, the bd570 seems to performs as well as any current Sony, Samsung or LG I tried.

Out of desperation I tried updating to the last official firrmware (.370.c) and I hope it doesn't cause more problems that it solves.

I have a couple questions for the bd570 experts here:
Does any one know what firmware 370 changes? I can't find any release notes or comments in this thread.

Assuming that we can keep the 570 alive for a while longer, has there every been a solution to the problem with Netflix randomly not showing bunches of episodes in a series?

Thanks!

ApK
