I'm having a difficult time purchasing a new player. It seems like each one contains a fatal flaw with regard to what I'm looking for. With the Sony it seems to be missing an SDHC slot (even a memory stick, which I found surprising unless they aren't going that route any more.) I understand there is a USB port. Is it possible to use a USB reader to get photos and AVCHD video into this unit? It's an incredible convenience to be able to pull out your SD card from a Canon or Panasonic HD video camera and play it within the player.
I took a look at the Panny BD85K, I believe. In addition to finding the S570 cheaper, I've also noticed that it has 1GB of storage, which would seem to be useful - I'm wondering if that storage is for caching streaming content and improving performance. If not, what would that rather small amount of storage be useful for other than storing some pictures?
