Looks like the S770, I wonder if the S770 gets released in the states. This should be a nice player. I wonder why they backed the memory from 4GB to 1GB comparing to the 1000ES.

Thanks Richard

They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

Yeah, I'd like to give it a whirl too. However, now that Sir Howard has decided that the ES line should no longer be sold online, that puts a damper on things. I used to depend on at least Crutchfield for my ES interests. I guess that's gone. Funny how you can now buy: NAD, Denon IC, Marantz, etc. "legitimately" online, and Sony decides NOT, all of the sudden, to sell ES that way. So, I get the feeling that the BDP-S770 (which the BDP-S1700ES favors) will be sort of an online option for those of us so inclined. We'll just have to see what non ES line Recievers will come close to those ES ones...

Does anyone own this palyer or had the chance to try it? I have a chance to buy one for $125. The unit looks real nice but I don't know if it's worthy as this is already a three year old player. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
