Woohoo! My 93 was originally scheduled to deliver on the 27th but the date on the tracking page bumped up to tomorrow (24th). So glad I didn't pay for the expedited shipping now.

Something I never thought I'd see: a credible reason for looking forward to watching "The Last Airbender."

M2TS is supported. You just need to extract the contents of the ISO using something like PowerISO. AVCHD will work with NTFS in the future, so all you need to do is make a AVCHD folder and move the BDMV folder into it. VoilÃ*, legitimate playback of you Blu-Ray backup.

for those waiting for the oppo 93. you are in for a treat. if you are new to oppo. you will be wondering why it took you so long to get the player in the first place. I had that thought when I got the 83.
enjoy.

Same exact thing with me. I wonder if the original delivery date was conservative, or, if FedEx is trying to beat the after Thanksgiving rush.

Where are you located?

Mine still says the 27th... I'm in Texas.

Woo hoo. Out for delivery. Left Oppo yesterday, standard shipping. Pays to live close to them. I look forward to hooking it up and posting in the owner's thread.

I'm late to this thread... I just "registered" to be notified when the 93 is available for purchase. About how long do y'all reckon I'll have to wait?

Lucky you. I'm still at Approved--Ready for Fulfillment. Hope it ships soon. Fortunately, I live about 4 hours away so it wouldn't take too long to get here.

Site recently changed to 11/30, so it's liable to be awhile.

+1 - Even though I have only spent one evening with mine I am already thinking I may be selling my 80 and 83 to buy another 93 to put upstairs where I had intended to move the 83. I thought I had enough trouble figuring out what to do with the 80, now OPPO comes out with this player and I know its only going to get better as content is added and the firmware is refined. On top of that depending on Pandora being added I may have a few Rokus to sell or give to family - damn OPPO

When are the AVS Oppo ads going to change from the 80/83 to the 93?

I had my roku machine in the main room. I dumped it since I have both the oppo 93 and the ps3 hooked up in the main room. I still have the 83 in the computer room.

I've had my Salamander Synergy for about 7 years. I can attest the build quality is unmatched. It's as solid a piece of furniture as you'll find and it has good WAF if you plan on putting it in a family/living room.

Oh, and my 93 arrives on Saturday!

Oh, and my 93 arrives on Saturday!

I have to second Salamander. Their cabinet furniture is superb, and with the steel mesh sides, you get both structural soundness as well as great airflow among your components, not to mention a great design aesthetic.

About the only thing I don't like from them is their seating. It looks fantastic, and I'm sure is just as impeccably assembled, but the prices, oh my, talk about sticker shock.

Sorry... back to Oppo talk. I've been really wanting one of their BR players for a few years now, just never got around to it (the PS3 has been providing great service for us for a few years now). Now that the 93 has been announced, I feel it's time to go all in and get one, just hope that I'll be able to get it before XMas rolls around (particularly the week before XMas, where I'll actually have time to watch some movies while at home on "staycation". )

I'm selling my 83 today to make way for the 93. Gonna have to settle for using the PS3 in the meantime.

I'm still holding onto my DV-980H though. I'm glad they make all their players the same width. It makes them look good when stacked.

Check out the BDI line too. I went crazy looking for a credenza style going from a rack type. Wound up getting the BDI Novia without my wife seeing it first. It is a gorgeous piece of furniture and one of the few ones that fit my center channel speaker.

Oh yeah the wife loves it !!!

The BDI Novia is eerily similar to the Standout Designs TV stands.

I hope Oppo sold a unit to the Danes and the other creators of region-free hardware. No sale for me until the 93 is complete.

There's already been a post stating they are ready to go with that and are just awaiting arrival of the now-finalized production hardware to verify it before they start selling the kit.

I was unable to participate in the early release of the 83 so I am really pumped that my 93 shipped today. I can't wait. The 93 will replace two players, a Samsung 1500 (Blu-Ray) and a venerable Pioneer 563A (480i DVD, DVD-A, CD).

The wife will rant and rave, per usual, and then eventually and grudgingly come to accept the player. And then I'll buy something else and start the cycle all over again...

Ok,

Mine arrives tomorrow already!!

Can't wait to try out it's upscaling capabilities for SD DVD, and also looking forward to see it's Bluray image playback as well.

It's my first Oppos Bluray player, but it's also one of the best Bluray players out there.

Timing couldn't be better for you, long weekend to audition the player.
