Hi, My you tube is not working. The you tube logo only comes and stays there. It is not working.

Is it working for the current official release?

Thanks Bob:

That did the trick! My DNS 1 and 2 server addresses were out of whack with my the ones on my laptop. I had to use manual servers on my router when i decided to use OpenDNS's faster servers and Oppo didn't "know" about it.

Been a week now and I don't think they (Oppo/Google) are in any hurry to get to it.

Well known problem in this thread. Oppo and Google know about it and are working to fix the problem.

Re the YouTube "Leanback" service:

Fun with 3rd party services.

It seems Google changed the interface between the server and the YouTube app. Apparently, unexpectedly.

As such, it's not a "bug" from Google's point of view. That is, Google are not going to back off the change to what their server is now sending out. And the current YouTube app on the OPPO can't handle that. The app for the OPPO will need to be adjusted to match. That's in process.

As with all the other 3rd party Internet service apps, the code for the YouTube app comes from the service provider -- in this case Google. I've no idea why they changed how their server works before getting an updated app in place.

I can't give any ETA on the updated app (which will have to come as an OPPO firmware update). But it's a fair assumption I think that it will be in the next Public Beta firmware release.

Though 5 minutes away from each other, i wouldn't be suprised if it took weeks to get approvals from management from both sides to work on problems together

I have a DLNA server (WD) and the OPPO can play content from its folders, except that it "burps" in between chapter or title changes. I forget which.

That's one reason I've not upgraded to the latest firmware, as I assume the OPPO will play cleanly and support working menus from the same content when in the .ISO format. The only thing I have to figure out is how to use it.

The WD live has no problem seeing / playing a .ISO on its local store, but the same file is invisible to the OPPO.

I'm guessing this is because it will only play that content from a local USB or SATA drive.

So I'd like to find out exactly how this works so I can create the right folder names for .ISO content (and ripped BD content while I'm at it).

I know this has been discussed in this thread frequently, but if anyone could point me to several posts and do a particularly good job of explaining everything .ISO for this player, it'd be a great help.

ISO never worked over DLNA; as far as we know it's not possible.

For ISO on local storage, there is nothing to know. Just copy the file onto storage and attach it to the player. And don't update firmware.

If ISO support is important to you, I suggest finding a different device for that.

ISO is not supported via DNLA. Your DNLA server may be allowing you to access them, but it's just opening the ISO and serving the individual video files. That's the cause of the pauses between files.

ISO was only supported via storage attached to the player, and the player will treat them exactly as it would the physical disc. DVD-V, DVD-A and BD are supported and will be accessible via the "Movies" icon on your home screen.

BDMV folders are still supported at this time, so there's another option for BD besides ripping to ISO. A BDMV folder will also be treated the same as the physical disc.

So you just name the folder "BDMV" on the local attached storage, or does the name matter?

BDMV is the name used by BR video; I'm pretty sure you can't name it anything else. You can nest it inside other folders, named by titles, for example.

If you renamed it you would be able to navigate into the folder and play the individual m2ts files, but that's not the same as playing a copy of the disc.

"BDMV" is the folder in the root of every BD disc that contains the movie. Same as "VIDEO_TS" on a DVD.

This is incorrect, Bill. As long as the internal file structure is unchanged you can re-name a BDMV folder to anything you like. It still acts like a disc. At least for now.

Question: Would I benefit by enabling the QTC? If I applied a deep color mode to HDMI 1, will that give me something I'd be happy with?

No matter what I try, I cannot establish a wifi connection with a non-broadcasted SSID. As soon as I set the SSID to broadcast, the connection works flawlessly but when going back to non-broadcast I again have no connection. All my other devices (phone, printer, tablet, receiver) work without issue except the Oppo. When trying to set up a manual connection on non-broadcast I receive the message:

No matched SSID. Please re-enter SSID.

I have followed the suggestions at http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...3#post21317653 but with no luck. What else can I attempt?

Are there any rumors for PGS-subtitle support in MKV-files?

Welcome to AVSForum.

There wouldn't be any rumors; those who know wouldn't say. OPPO hardly ever talks about futures.

I've requested PGS/SUP support in MKV, along with hidef VOBSUB.

VOBSUB works now in MKV with standard definition video, but not when sized to hidef. SRT subtitles work now.

PGS/SUP work in m2ts files.

For anyone purchasing an Oppo 93 from Amazon in the last 30 days or so: what version of the firmware was on your unit? I have one coming tomorrow and wonder what are the chances of it coming with the March 2012 firmware. Looks like Oppo direct is shipping with the latest one. Thanks.

I received my Oppo 93 from Amazon on March 20th and it came with the Sept 2011 firmware. Because I don't care about the .iso capability I've already upgraded to the March firmware.

Does the current firmware only disable the ISO support for BluRay.. or does it disable ISO reading for regular DVD's?

^^ Both are disabled. The ISO file format is no longer recognized regardless of what's in it. The BDMV folder structure still works for Blu-ray but not for SD-DVD or music discs.

Be sure to check out the updated YouTube Leanback interface, as the earlier interface was quite limited.

Be aware typing a sting of a characters in search pauses while YouTube tries to match content.

Before anyone asks, Blockbuster cut off service to all the manufacturers -- effective March 31. They made the unilateral decision to go exclusive with Samsung.

Frankly, it's no great loss.

But it does point out that even the major manufacturers get stuff like this only at the whim of the 3rd party service providers.
