Yes, I am located in germany. Just to get one thing right, I am absolutely not looking for flaws - since I decided to keep it, I am hoping for fixes.
The player has a lot going for it, otherwise I would not keep it. But it has some pretty serious bugs at the moment, even when just being used as a disc playing device.
But as I wrote before PQ is great and the 3D ISO's I tried worked flawlessly.
I find it very strange that one has to constantly change the NTSC / PAL setting when putting in different discs, otherwise there is stuttering. The player just has to do this automatically.
24p playback from files on a harddrive also does not work, why?
Fact is we know we will get a buggy beta product as early adopters, not good but that's the way it is.
But, I believe there are a few bugs too many at the moment. I really hope Asus can fix this soon. Then it will give Oppo a run for it's money, plus it will probably upset many Oppo owners who paid a LOT more.
BTW I own an Oppo 983 and PQ of upscaled DVDs looks just as good on the Asus (maybe even better).
From watching online stores in germany, there must have been many sold already, since they are mostly sold out already.
Let's face it, it has only been on the market for about a week...
Meanwhile I bought myself a new WD LIVE player to be able to stream stuff that the Asus does not like. Great little product.
I have sold my Popcorn Hour C-200, that is how much I trust Asus to come up with fixes soon.
BTW selling the Popcorn Hour with inbuilt blu-ray, gave me the money to buy the two new players - not bad.
So NeoTV-Tester, I am really looking forward to read your review.
