I did some searching on YouTube using the key words "Pioneer CEDIA 2011" and I found this video. From what I can tell, it sounds like Chris Walker (walkamo) doing all the talking. He says that the BDP-140 will be shipping this month. The BDP-52FD will be shipping toward the end of this month. The BDP-53FD will be shipping next month. Perfect! Just in time for my month-long Halloween horror fest!

Do any of these upcoming blu-ray players have a source direct mode?, so that I can use the video processor in my Pioneer VSX-1120 receiver?

Can you say which DAC or DAC's are in these? Would it be the ESS 9018 Reference Sabre DAC?

Thanks

Hi Steve,

Both models use the AK4480 32-Bit 192khz DAC.

I just received the day before the show, so I have not had a chance to play with one (Or listen to one yet). I will be back in the office a week from tomorrow. I will pop the top and try and take some pictures...

Thanks,

What would be the point of this device when pairing it with an Elite receiver (SC-07)? I would think a $99 Apple TV would be just as good or better.

And if you're looking just for DAC use, might as well get Cambridge Audio DAC Magic.

Well David,

I find it intriguing that you would question my integrity since you know me.

If you re-read my posts you will see that I received the N-30 and N-50 Networked Media Players just before the show. I have had the BDP-140 and BDP-52 players for quite some time. (Just got a semi-working BDP-53FD just before the show).

I did not receive the spec data for the N-30 and N-50 until the last minute which is why I had to look it up.

Also, I replaced the Oppo BDP-93 (Not 95) with a BDP-52FD.

Chris, would you mind posting some pics of the gui/osd of the 140/52? Can you confirm if source direct will re-appear in these players? Thanks for posting as usual Chris.

Hello Chris,

Thanks for the info.

You said the 53FD will be available in december, but some dealers in France talk about october for the BDP-LX55.
Wich if I'm correct, is the european version of the 53FD.

Hi, Chris. Is there any way you could provide a link to the PDF manuals for the BDP-140, BDP-52FD, and BDP-53FD so we can become familiar with their operation before they are released? Thanks!

Depends on what format your audio files are in. The n-30 seems to be a competitor to the Logitech squeezebox touch with the added ability to process 24/192k files and having airplay capability. The N-50 adds DAC capability. This would probably make more sense to someone who is running a two channel or hybrid home theater system where most of the music is listened to through separate preamp or integrated. This is only for music streaming, so if you don't stream music to your Sc-07 or the DLNA capability is fine, then I guess it wouldn't be of much use for you. Apple TV is limited in audio formats and tops out at 16/44 resolution files.

Crossing my fingers that load times are going to be good. I still have my BDP-51fd.....its slooooow. I am bummed that the source direct is not present as I just purchased a VSX-52 receiver and it also has a Marvell processor that will not be utilized. If source direct was available I'd be able to get the 52fd and save some $$$$$$$$ to put towards an Elite TV .

What audio DAC will be used in the BDP-140 and BDP-440? Separate or integrated into the SoC?

Good point, most of my CDs are ripped to Apple lossless. The great thing about the Apple TV though is that it has HDMI out which will let your receiver process your audio files. It will also do video over AirPlay which the new Pioneer N don't support.

While i was googling for n-50 network player, i came across a website and saw a photo of n-50 network player.

Under the n-50 were two pioneer units which looked like a stereo amplifier and a cd player and they cosmetically matched the n-50.

Does anybody know about new pioneer stereo components? or did anyone who have been at IFA ever seen these components?
