Wich if I'm correct, is the european version of the 53FD.

Hi Frenshprince,

My understanding is still December (I can confirm that the BDP-140 and the BDP-52FD are in our warehouse and shipping to dealers). I will confirm the exact reason, however I am guessing that the European models do not contain Pandora or Netflix services which could be the reason for a month early introduction.

Does anybody know about new pioneer stereo components? or did anyone who have been at IFA ever seen these components?

You will see the new amplifier in early 2012, however not in silver (Although I think it looks great in silver)...

Don't have the final price or specs right now, however we should announce details in the next couple of months.. No CD Player though.....

This because I have placed a order to buy the Pioneer SC-LX85(european version of the SC-57) but I would like to have a matching Blu-Ray player, and the BDP-LX55 is more matching the Pioneer VSX-LX55 than the SC-LX75/SC-LX85.

Nothing right now, we have received quite a few requests for a higher priced player, however I don't expect anything in the $2000.00 range, not a large enough market to justify the engineering expenses... I will be in Japan next week for product planning meetings for next years products. If you have any requests for features please let me know.... Any thoughts on Managed copy from anyone?

My bad on the component outputs. I will have the product sheets updated. None of the models have component video output. I made this decision based on the fact that after July of 2011, any new players introduced cannot output high definition signals over analog (480 only).

First: Thank you very much for answering our questions here (I wish, your European colleague would do the same).

My requests:
- source direct in all models (shouldn't cost much).
- (SA)CD-TEXT in all models.
- track numbers on the display in the BDP-140 class players too.
- 2 HDMI out in the lower models too.

Cant speak for everyone Chris but the sentiments expressed here about managed copy's torturous path [though cynical] are maybe close to the mark .

http://gizmodo.com/5288454/blu+ray-m...good-in-theory

Not to mention the 'other methods' of getting a copy of something you have paid for allready Since you said 'products' ; If pioneer managed to release a hdmi pre pro many would be interested considering the paucity out there I suspect

Chris,
I know this is a long shot
My requests is would it be hard to implement 3D checkerboard? I know that Panasonic are the only ones that do it. But I do not like Panasonic..
Could it be done with a software?

Oh yes, I second both of these 2 features. I forgot them.

Im guessing what will matter most is how well Pio supports the FW updates/bugs, and how well they can program for the Marvell. Hopefully they have been practicing

Could also make it interesting if the 53 sells for less than $499.

Source direct is absolutely essential for me, unless they can include some kind of forced 1080 24p mode.

Okay, that's a pity
Well I am looking for a Blu-Ray player which matches best with the SC-LX85(SC-57 over in the US), and liked to have a Blu-Ray player.
And just because I like to have the 'best' which is available

But thanks for answering ! Great stuff.

Hi Drago,

Both the BDP-140 and the BDP-52FD use the AK4430 (192kHz 24-Bit) DAC.

Still waiting for my units to get back from Cedia and I will take some screenshots...

Thanks,

I am very interested in the BDP-52 or 53. I am wondering if they offer a SUBTITLE SHIFT
feature like my Oppo BDP-83 and the current BDP-93? I looked at the owners manual for the BDP-52 and did not see anything.

Thanks Chris for the manuals.

I've just finishing the 52fd one and :

- Only MKV up to 720p are suported.

- USB only in fat 16/32

Will the 53FD be better on those two points, or the same ?

Thanks again

Hey Guys,

Let me go through the manuals. I have personally hooked up a NTFS hard drive and played 1080p MKV files.

Let me see what is going on...

This makes the 53 with the qdeo and mediatek very interesting considering it will be very simillar to the oppo bdp-93 depending on how well it's implemented. the 93 is the bar-setter and imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.

Last January I bought an Oppo 93.
I was very satisfied with me bfd51, but wanted more reactivity and multimedia features, so I moved on.
Sold the Pioneer, and bought the Oppo.

After a few days with It, I didn't understand, because I wasn't happy with the PQ.
So to be sure it wasn't the fault of my display device (JVC-RS20), I bought a new BDP-51, and spent a week to make a lot of comparisons against the oppo.

Not question ask, I sold the oppo.
The Pionner was clearly better in PQ. Sharper and smoother.
the SQ was quite the same.

Anyway
Since I've been waiting a perfect successor of the BDP51, and hope the 53FD will be it.

All I want, is the same PQ/AQ with more multimedia features, and a better reactivity.

Absolutely! The manual pretty clearly states FAT only.

Also no specific information on what is supported thru USB vice streaming

No FLAC?

What about ISO images BD or DVD?

To me, if the unit doesn't have support for 1080p mkv NTFS, and ISO file playback using the USB port, then it is a no go

If u want to improve things, I think HMG needs some sprucing up, I hope the jpeg playback is better than on the SC-55 which is atrocious and not even the Right aspect

And I hope that the method entering pandora and Netflix account information can make use of a keyboard or the AV2 app

It was very painful to register my SC-55 on pandora --- hot tip, have an email account AAA@AAA.com with password AAA
