I find the way to change in SACD 2ch, multichannel and normal CD. When you put in player hybrid SACD stop it. Then push the CD/SACD button and on display will change to CD AREA, 2CH and MULTICHANNEL.

I tried standard USB wifi dongle on my BDP-440, all I can see is "not supported" memo on TV display...looks like it´s a tricky thing with Mediatek chip, though specs state that it supports USB wifi...
I´m still waiting for Pioneer to come up with some solution for the dropouts issue so I can reconnect LAN without worrying of when it happens again, in a middle of movie...

I think some of us are confused. Let me help. Wireless USB simply means that you don't need a USB cable to use a USB device, such as a mouse or keyboard. The wireless LAN adapters connect via Ethernet. When terms such as USB wireless LAN or similar are used, that means that the wireless bridge connects to the player's Ethernet port, and uses the player's USB port simply to power the wireless bridge. I hope this clarifies things for you guys.

I'm sorry but that's not true. USB wifi dongle means you only have to connect the dongle to the USB port in your device (tv, receiver, etc.) with no need of ethernet connection. Both power AND connection pass through the USB port

Exactly...that`s the whole purpose of it...unfortunately, Pioneer somehow managed to not allow anything but their own and very expensive AS-WL300 USB wireless kit (which is meant to be connected to both LAN/ethernet interface and rear USB port)
though it`s strange as allegedly used Mediatek MT8550 should allow casual USB wifi dongle...
maybe it just needs some special driver or formatting prior to be used with BDP-440...?

That's why I'm going to buy http://www.netgear.com/home/products.../XAVB5004.aspx
For just a bit more than 100 euros I think it will solve the problem

This is very interesting close-up picture of BDP-440`s display (unflashed) showing some interesting characters...though they are not visible when the display is on...even HDMI 1 2 is there...
(sorry for dusty scene, snapped with 12MP Nokia N8)

It`s intended to be connected to LAN interface on the player?
If yes, it doesn`t solve my problem with AVR dropouts...I wanted to avoid LAN connection in the BDP-440 until Pioneer fixes the problem...
though it appears it could work as it`s not directly connecting player with router...the dropouts are occuring when LAN cable from the player is connected with router as well as LAN cable from AVR goes to the same router...
but it`s still pretty expensive...

real problem is that there shouldn`t be any LAN issue on new player whatsoever...it`s Pioneer`s turn now...

I thought Chris Walker already cleared the whole USB thing. He said that the players will not only accept the Pioneer one but also any wireless bridge device.

Go Celtics!

He did, but the Mediatek chip used in new Pio BDPs is according to its specs supposed to support USB Wifi dongle, too...obviously it does not...

It is a shame the manual has zero info on the front display

EXCLUSIVE HCFR

From Igor Kirkwood :
(traduced by google )

Quote:
Beautiful aesthetic
And especially the large door (1 / 3 of of the facade surface ) ... is painted glossy black, not brushed aluminum, which allows a good compatibility with the aesthetic amps painted glossy black (like my LX-71).

Silent operation-perfect ...... absolutely nothing audible at 1 m from the LX-55.

-The figure I expected: loading and initiation of a CD: 12 seconds (about 30 seconds on my Pioneer LX-70A)

ANOTHER EXCLUSIVE HCFR

Always From Igor Kirkwood :
(traduced by google )

Quote:
-About 3 seconds for a passage to another track CD (same CD).

In BR-5.1 I had only the indication of the Pioneer LX-71 amp to "PCM" with five icons and not DTS Master Audio..... I will explore with other BR.

Icons-operation on my screen (plasma 60 "Pioneer) on CD are elegant and discreet.

when playing CDs without a screen, there is never a reminder of the current track.

Face-LX-55 ultra simplified: * walking * stop (acting as a break too) * start sector * open / close the drawer.

No-light special (LAN - HDMI out) as the LX-70A

I have kept a must for the end ..... superb SACD listening Rite of Spring that I did not know that CD ..... resulting in incomparable immersion

Quote:
-In fact, the amp is no indication DTS True ... but always PCM. As against the screen mention DTS True ...

I never thought they would...BDP-LX55s are fresh out of the box now, the issues were anticipated
that`s why I emphasized these potential updates to Chris Walker before his trip to Japan (he hasn`t posted anything yet):
- chapter/track visibility on player`s display
- ability to see the actual resolution change on player`s display or TV when pressing HDMI button on remote
- ability to adjust video options while on playback, not in STOP mode (absolutely inconvenient, then)
- something`s definitely wrong with BDP-440s remote sensor, a need of massive improvement in responsiveness
- LAN/AVR dropouts issue
- maybe something more...

ANOTHER EXCLUSIVE HCFR

Always From Igor Kirkwood :

Quote:
- Not the Tip of the open / close the Pioneer LX70A

- the LX55 is cold (the LX-70A is warm )....... powered on at the same time

- Surprise-in "pure direct" the subwoofer works in SACD. It does not work in stereo CD

In german forums the delay of the BDP-LX55 was (hopefully?) explained by fixing the bugs in the BDP-140/BDP-440...
