Id like to see some more powerful noise reducers that dont hurt details.

In the regular 103, it had a great noise reducer that kept details intact. When i upgraded to the 103D, the noise reducer was different and was not as effective and smeared details. I believe the change in chips is where the change came from.

Sony tvs have an incredible noise reducer that specifically targets the mosquito noise that sparkles and keeps details, but when i changed over to a samsung tv i was disappointed in the noise reducer.

since alot of 4k bds are 2k upscales, they can have more noise than the regular BD in certain scenes, so an advanced DNR setting would be great.

TV; samsung 65JS9500(great deal from cleveland plasma) 4K HDR and lots of it!

Oppo 4K UHD Player 2016

I heard there were Oppo UHD Universal Players coming out in 2016 as successors to BDB 103 and 105 in time for the holidays. Does anyone have any information on these? Other than be able to play 4K UHD discs, what else can the 105 successor do?

There is no published information, just reports of what you have said from people who have contacted OPPO customer support.

What disc info does it report?

My 983 would report whether a DVD was single or double-layer, but I lost that feature when I got my 93.

The current screen shows all of that except HDR and BT 2020, which you would not expect it to. I would assume with their vast info bars now, the UHD model will be plentiful as well.

Also, when using the HDMI input from say a DVR, it shows you the source info and what info is going out of HDMI 1 and 2.

You can already increase the bit depth output in the present models,
how ? i have 103d

i can work with usb and said to device to work on 4:4:4 1080P
Very beautiful colors
it's work only on hdmi 2 not 1
Pioneer receiver is connected

Quote:
What purpose would doubling output to 120 Hz provide?
The picture looks better at 60HZ
my 103d Converter from 24 fps to 60FPS and it looks very good

with my Computer converts movies to 120 fps and it looks amazing
Computer screen 144fps
( i can't connect OPPO to 120 Hz not support and it's a shame )

Quote:

Very simple
today there are 1.4 DP + 1.3 DP connection supports 4K 120HZ
more six months going to be with such entry screen

and it is important to have entry to the OPPO 113 - with DP 1.4 ( 4:4:4 12 BIT 120HZ )
for movis and games

I think it best to OPPO 113
Work only with DP 1.4 !

DP 1.4 also supports HDMI 2.1
( Just Connect from DP TO HDMI )
with DP 1.4 you gel all in one Connect from 4k with 120hz / deep coloer 14bit / rec 2020
and more .....32gbps

Technically, a USB2.0 connection is capable of providing enough speed for the current profiles/levels that UHD uses...

backlit remote that turns on auto with motion(like my xfinity remote) and built in storage space for music/movies, better gui for playlists to be created from multiple online sources.

Theoretically USB2.0 is able to offer data transfer speeds as high as 480 Mbps. The 100GB UHD disc's have a maximum data rate of 128 Mbps regardless of what frame-rate the video has been encoded with. Primarily because the UHD disc's can't currently spin any faster than this reliably - So that's well within the theoretical limit of USB2.0...

1. Backlit remote motion active, nice idea!

2. I consider built in storage a negative. It will be obsolete in a year, I don't want to pay for it. Don't want to pay for a new OPPO every year just to get more internal storage.

3. I support the use of external storage for such uses. That way when the device dies or one that's twice the size for half the price comes out it's easy to swap.

That incoded which would be fine for storage but decoded video like HDMI or Display Port would support is another story.

why we can't see DP 1.4 IN Blu-ray ? look at how many things has

can play hdmi 2.1 with adapter ( no need to pay to hdmi )

Why continue with the old hdmi connection and not quality?

UHDP certification? a 1/4" headphone jack and quadcore processing on the 113 would be neat

Not a fan of UHDP certification. In my opinion, it's just a subgroup of companies trying to push their tech; certification is no indication of excellence or even compliance - edge lit sets are passing it. Several companies are not going for it, I don't think Oppo should either.

A headphone jack would be nice, but since that's already part of the 105X and probably a differentiator for the 115(?), I would expect it there rather than on the 113.

I'd rather they go octa core (4 processing, 4 GPU)....

Simple logic here since this thread is so old.

Reference: What features would you like in your next Oppo BR - e.g. Oppo BDP-113 and BDP-115.
  • Oppo has already stated once their UHD players are out, they are going to discontinue their 1080p BD player line.
  • Model numbers will likely change so "BDP" is no longer applicable, neither is a 113 or 115 as a sequential designation.
  • Yes quad core processing is likely since the MTK successor to MT8580 shows that.
  • Headphone jacks on base model or Bluetooth AptX? Preferences? Thoughts?

My list of demands for the "113", in no particular order:

- Same form factor and similar look as the BDP-103
- HDR10 and Dolby Vision playback
- Carry over all features from BDP-103
- Atmos and DTS:X via bitstream
- At least one 4K input
- Even faster
- Amazon and HBO Now apps

IMHO, I would want a headphone amp that is on par with the Oppo HA-1, or at the very least the BDP-105(D).
In that case I think a headphone output may be better placed in a higher end model, and thus potentially saving
a little cost to the consumer in the lower end model, but Bluetooth AptX would be a really nice one to have in lieu of that too.

Also what about something like a Bluetooth remote? I know they already have the Media Control app that can work
with their current BD players, and I hope they have a similar corresponding app for their UHD player, and it does
work well for many things, including a remote without the need for line of sight, but...
for me personally I like the feel of their current remote and am so used to using it, I prefer to use the OEM remote
most of the time, so having an OEM remote without the need for line of sight would be another welcomed feature for me.

Please please please, do not have a flip down faceplate like the new Panasonic player does.
I just about choked on my phlegm when I saw that one. Yucko!

Be about the same price as the Panasonic DMP-UB900, not have the flip down front and have more features and I may even come back to Oppo...

Mits 73835, Denon X4000, Emotiva UPA5 (triggered), Wharfedale Pacific Evo 40s, CS, 10s, PC DX12 sub, the internet, an ASUS ChromeBox running Kodi 15.1, a TiVo Series 3 and a Sony BDPS6200. There's also a Wii, but we don't talk about that...

I'd like to see the ability to run Android media apps. I'm glad they added Tidal but it would be great to be able to use Playstation Vue and other cord cutting stuff directly on the player. License and embed Kodi too which eliminates the need for them to develop a companion remote app and the on-player network streaming interface.

Also include at least one more hdmi input.

Does anyone know a rough eta on the new players?
