Thanks ever so much, Roberto! I've visited LG's site & it would appear that you are right: *******.com/m3e87me
I guess the only alternative left is to wait for LG support to get back to us. I've left a message there explaining the problem. We're hoping they'll be able to help. This is a fairly new unit & it wasn't that cheap at the time of purchase.

Quick question.
I'm connecting this to an older Toshiba 36" tube TV via the composite video cables (as TV doesn't have HDMI).

When I go into player's Setup menu, under DISPLAY, it won't let me choose 4:3 ratio; I can only choose between the 16:9 ones.
When I watch a 'widescreen' movie, it shows up on my TV in fullscreen, but it's a little out of whack, like it's stretched or something.
And if I watch a 'fullscreen' movie, it's even worse.

Any idea how I can get it set to 4:3 aspect ratio?
I realize this is a temporary issue until I upgrade my TV, but that's not happening for a few months...

thanks!
Did this ever get resolved? I also have a tube tv and would like to buy the BP620 if it looks good on a 4:3 tv.

I've owned a BP620 for the past couple of years, and I've never seen this before, but last night I noticed a red flashing LED located a couple of inches behind the control panel. It flashes 4 times every couple of seconds. Does anyone know what this means? I tried googling it but did not have any luck. The only unusual thing that I've noticed is when I open the Premium app menu, a window pops up saying that Hulu Plus will be removed on 8/20. Is it possible that the flashing LED is related to that? The unit is connected via ethernet, so it's not a wifi issue. I tried unplugging it for a couple hours, but that didn't make any difference. Has anyone else seen this?

I checked mine last night and I had the same message but didn't see a flashing led.

can't upgrade

I have the "C" model and I cannot upgrade. I have Main Ver:BD5.277.00, Servo Ver:H08IMN0505
  1. I've tried updating via network/ethernet, but it tells me that I have the latest version.
  2. I've tried updating via USB:
    • tried putting H12IM2N.zip and H12IM2N.ROM into the root dir and in an "UPG_ALL" folder.
    • tried putting LG_BD_7000M60.zip and LG_BD_7000M60.ROM into the root dir and in an "UPG_ALL" folder.

The update is never found. When the USB stick is inserted, it flickers to show that it's searching it, but then it just goes back to normal (home screen). If there're media files on the stick, it asks me what I'd like to play. Either way, it completely ignores the firmware files.

I'd really like to update because some mp4/mkv files do not play.

Update: I managed to at least downgrade to BD5.242.00 via information found at avforums.com/threads/wanted-old-firmware-updates-for-lg-bd550.1720677/#post-18682941

Where can I get BD9.756.00.00, and is it even compatible with my 620C?

LG bp325w and external hdd question

Hi guys,
I was hoping you could help me out with a little problem I am having. I have all my movies converted to digital copies. Currently in my LG bp325w I have a 1tb Seagate free agent goflex portable hdd, which works flawlessly. I keep everything else on several seagate Expansion 3TB Desktop External hdd that need separate power supplies and don't just get power from the USB port. I have tried to connect these to the LG bp325w Blu-ray player but it can not see them. I would like to not have to switch files back and forth when I change my mind on what to watch and would just like to see everything all the time. Does anyone know what the issue is here? Does the Blu-ray player have a max size drive it will read? Does it have to be a portable? I could just get a bunch of 1tb drives like the one I have and connect them with a hub, but that would take a lot of drives and I doubt a hub could support that many. I tried to partition one of the 3tb drives into 3 1tb drives, but it still couldn't read it. Please help!

Just bought a BP420, one of my burned BR works while many others are rejected with an "error" message and the player ejects the disc.

Those rejected discs are of the same brand than the one that works, and were burned exactly the same way (same PC burner, same burning software, same parameters).

Have you found burning parameters that help improving compatibility with this player ?

I found my compatibility issue was related to burning speed.

So if it can help, the BP420 reads well mediarange BDR (PHILIP-R04-000) burned at minium speed with a LG BH10LS30 burner (lastest firmware), using ISO9660 + UDF 1.02 file system.
