Hi there I got the oppo 93 and have it going thru my denon 3312 a/v receiver i want to know on my sony 52 inch bravia why the aspect ratio on 95% of the downloads regardless of the video format looks like it is not correct and vertically squeezed?

Therefore I chg aspect on oppo doesn't seem to be right fix...chg on the tv seems slightly better but still out of proportion...but if i play on the PS3 bam NO PROPERS proper aspect ratio wtf!!!

Anything anyone can suggest?

Hello. This belongs in the BDP-93 thread, where we have discussed it before.

(1) Make sure the OPPO's aspect control is set to WIDE/AUTO. You get no aspect ratio control on media files otherwise.

(2) Update to the most recent firmware, which fixes a bug where the player was not providing the correct defaults when certain MKV header fields were missing.

If after doing those two things, if you are still having problems, post the details (as calmly as you can) in the BDP-93 thread.
