I got Pink Floyd's Endless River in FLAC. I selected the gapless playback option when playing the first song via the Android app, but there was still a gap before the second song played, what gives ?

Hello,

I was hoping someone could provide some connection advice for the following setup:

I have an older TV : Samsung PN50A650 (has an optical out), an Oppo BDP-103, a Harman Kardon AVR-254 and a Comcast DVR. I am looking to purchase a Sonos Playbar and I am aware of the lack of DTS support. I was wondering what others who have an Oppo BDP-103 and a Playbar have done from a connection standpoint to help address the lack of DTS? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Would getting the 103D be identical to just getting the 103 and adding a Darblet or are there subtle differences? Is it the same chip or just the same "technology"?

The BDP-103D subtracts:

~the Marvell Qdeo video processor

...and adds:

~the Silicon Image VRS ClearView video processor.
(the VRS chip allows for a slightly better picture presentation do to some ever so slight undefeatable DNR in the QDEO chip.)

~the Darbee Visual Presence video processor.

~the ability to send DSD over HDMI on the HDMI-1 output.
(this was only possible on the HDMI-2 output of the BDP-103)

~the ability to output upscaled 4K/50 and 4K/60 in YCbCr 4:2:0 data format on the HDMI-1 output.

...and replaces:

~the remote with be a slightly new version with a Darbee button.
(otherwise the remote is identical to the BDP-103)

All other aspects and functions of the two models are identical.

It's been more than 2 years since the OPPO BDP-103 was released. I wonder if a replacement model is expected soon, anyone know? I figure I'll buy this model, and then a week later the replacement will be announced....

No replacement is expected before late 2015 at the earliest since there is little that could be added to a new model until the situation with UHD Blu-Ray becomes clearer. Oppo is very conservative with their release schedules.

The firmware upgrades that are pushed out certainly do help......go for it.
