Maybe. You'd have to provide more details. What is the format of these files?

yea sure, with the 93 I select the movie and it will play it automatically , with the 103 I select the same Blu-ray and it takes me to a folder with a BDMV option and when I click on it just gives me a number of mini files, so I guess I need a way to play all those files together to watch the movie, I hope and I'm explaining myself here, sorry..

Try making an MKV version of the movie. MakeMKV will do this and is free during the beta period. Select "Open file" and choose the index.bdmv file (that's from my memory; I think it's right).

It should be as fast as copying the original data.

Pressure from the licensing authorities. The studios think people playing BDMV/ folders are stealing their product.

I had the same problem last year. I plugged the Oppo into a different spike guard and the hum was gone. You should try the same.

Optical does not use ground loop so you will never hear a hum. Ground loops issues only affect analog.

I have a client with an OPPO that now wants HBO Go. A Roku stick in the front of the player is not an option in this instance. Will the newer USB powered Roku stick work on the rear HDMI port of the OPPO, and be controlled by the OPPO remote like the MHL version, or am I better off just installing a separate Roku 2?

Only the MHL version in the front can use the Oppo remote.

Does 103 do DA conversion of all HDMI inputs & output audio via multichannel output or is analog multichannel audio output limited to BD only? I am planning to insert DDRC-88A between Oppo & my trusty but vintage receiver with multichannel input so that I can get Dirac room correction for all sources routing through Oppo.
Thanks,

Vinod

Try a DLNA server on the mac. The FAQ has a list of possibilities. Twonky is available on the mac and people usually report quick success with it.

Thanks Joey. Good to know this. May I ask what kind of spike guard did you use? Is it just a power bar w/ surge protection?

I did use a simple power chord extension bar and plug oppo into it and the humm still exist.

Hi, I really like my bdp 103 player why is the subtitle zoom still too small. I have srt files with my media files. I have done the subtitle adjustment feature and put it to size 3 and color yellow and it is still too small. Could there be a firmware update in the future that could increase more than that. In xbmc I have the subtitle size to 36 and that works for me. I really hope this could be added this is the best blu-ray/media player out there. I contacted oppo a few months back with this issue and they said maybe in the future but not guaranteed. Because of this Issue I have to use xbmc which allows me to zoom the subtitle as big as I want it. Is firmware support for this player dead?. Will I have to wait for bdp 113 for this?

Yes, a normal power bar with surge protection. I was getting a hum because the power bar was faulty. I replaced it with an older one and the hum was gone. If that doesn't solve the problem it might be useful to get your local electrician to check the wiring in your house.

So I got my 103 and have played music and movies on disc, streamed from Vudu and YouTube, and played stuff over the network and from USB drives. Loving it so far. The only little nitpick I would have is that neither the remote app nor the media player app have access to the player's streaming apps, such as Vudu or YouTube. It would be nice to have the ability to type searches via a smartphone app instead of the very slow and cumbersome method of using the onscreen keyboard via the physical remote control. I don't imagine there is any way around this, unless I've missed something. If I have, can someone please enlighten me? Thanks.

^ YouTube's own app for iOS (and probably for Android) can be "paired" through your YouTube account with the App in the 103. Once done, you can search and control playback using your iOS device and the actually playback happens on the 103. I.e., the app in the 103 is commanded to go out on the Internet and stream the YouTube content.

I don't believe VUDU has a similar app yet.

Windows 10, DLNA servers, and SMB shares--any problems?

If your SMB shares and DLNA-streamed files sent to an Oppo 103 were working fine with Windows 7 or 8, and if you have upgraded to Windows 10, how are these network-streamed files working with Windows 10?

By the way, I saw somewhere that the Windows Media Player app (or whatever it's called in Win10) will now handle FLAC 16- and 24-bit files.

For anyone who may have missed it... Windows 10 offers a much improved 'Cast to Device' option. Which now supports .mkv and .flac files: -
