Comparing to the previous Official release version BDP10X-80-1031, the major changes included in this version are:

1. Resolved a no audio issue when connecting via HDMI Out 1 into VIZIO P-series 4K TVs.
2. Resolved a disc loading issue with the “A Walk in the Woods” Blu-ray Disc.
3. Resolved a playback issue where certain ALAC files would produce static noise.
4. Resolved an issue where the player would sometimes lock up when receiving the RS-232 command to launch VUDU.
5. Resolved an issue where HDMI Out 2 would sometimes output RGB regardless of the HDMI Out 2 color space settings.
6. Resolved an HDMI audio dropout issue that could occur when playing Blu-ray titles with a duration longer than three hours, such as Schindler’s List.
7. Resolved an issue where subtitles would sometimes randomly repeat when playing MKV files with embedded PGS subtitles.
8. Restored the ability to bitstream Dolby TrueHD audio tracks in MKV files when HDMI Audio is set to Bitstream. If you encounter a no audio issue when playing MKV files, we recommend setting the player’s HDMI Audio setting to Auto (Default) to force the player to output LPCM.
9. Improved compatibility with WAV files using ID3 tags.

All features and improvements of the previous firmware are also included in this version.

In case anyone doesn't know, the relatively newly discovered method of using an Oppo 103 or 105 (and a few other specific BD players) instead of a PS3 to rip SACDs to .ISO files is discussed in the last couple of pages of this thread:

Is DVD Audio/SACD Dead?

I can confirm that this method still works with the new Oppo firmware.

Works really well

And it's probably more appropriate to move any discussions about it to here

For those of you using OLED 4K displays with a Oppo BDP-103 which output are you using 1080p or 4k x 2k for the LG OLED? The upconversion is going to have to occur someplace and I am thinking the Oppo would be the better place to do it.

I have an Oppo 105 and an LG E6 OLED.

I don't seem to see any real difference with BD discs or with 1080p Netflix when comparing 1080p to 4k x 2k output from the Oppo but for lower quality source material than 1080p my feeling is the best option is 4k x 2k output so I've ended up choosing that. Standard def material like DVDs does show a difference though how much of a difference depends on how good the source material is. If you're passing another video source through the Oppo for video processing purposes then you're adding another source variable. I'm not doing that so I can't comment on what the impact of that might be.

I've only had the E6 running for 6 days so I'm still dialling in my picture settings a bit but my feeling is that your picture settings on the OLED can make a difference in how good or bad upscaled material can look. I've found that whatever resolution I output from the Oppo, my picture settings on the OLED can make a quite noticeable difference in how good the picture ends up looking, and how much difference I notice between different output settings on the Oppo.

Keep in mind that the link that was provided a few posts up is specific to the current release. To see future updates, you'll be better off going to the support page for your model:

Even better. Hopefully Oppo will have their UHD player out before the end of 2016. I'm waiting on that and in the meantime storing up UHD HDR titles.

Definitely yes with 5.1 Flac audio. I have not tested 7.1 Flac audio though...

And theres no problem with channel mapping? It picks up the correct mapping.
I have a 5.1 setup so would need the oppo to downmix 7.1 to 5.1. Im wondering if it can do this with out the metadata in the audio stream

I see they still have not addressed the issue of playing back 6.1 Blu-ray's in LPCM and there being a dramatic drop off in the quality of the audio. The Star Wars Blu-ray's are a great example. Playing the 6.1 DTS-HD MA tracks in LPCM sounds like a lossy DVD or worse while in Bitstream they sound wonderful, as they should.
