Hi!

I am looking for a blu-ray player with SACD feature for under $1000. I enjoy watching blu-ray movies and also enjoy listening to SACD 2 channel music. I think this kind of a player is called a universal player correct?

Thanks for any advice!!

In this particular forum, mods ask that all requests go in the help me choose a player thread:

No need to spend anywhere near 1000 for a BD player and SACD support. Sony meets both those requirements as does the Oppo.

The 'best' player depends to a large extent on what connection you'll use, what kind of set-up you have and what other features you require.

For 2CH SACD note that last year's and this year's Pioneer BDPs can output the 2CH SACD as 2CH PCM at 88.2kHz from optical output if you wish to use an external DAC. No other players can do that.

Audiosceptics accept audio trials using 25 people. A recent Oxford study with over 353,000 patient records from 639 separate clinical trials shows for every 1,000 people taking diclofenac or ibuprofen there would be 3 additional heart attacks, 4 more cases of heart failure and 1 death every year.
