Its hard to say how much difference but so far the audio with the HD link seems to always amaze me on every movie I watch, but the biggest difference is having a receiver that is equiped with Audyssey XT32! This is where youll notice dramatic improvements with the sound quality and dramatic performance increase through all your speakers! As for the 4520ci being pricey at $2500, this is so but I did buy mine a few months ago brand new through best buy with a 5 year warranty for $1800. By now im sure theres all kinds of deals on ebay and some other places online so youd probably find even better prices than that. This receiver is def a winner in my book, totally blew the pioneer elite I had away in sound quality, power and features. This made me a denon fan for sure!

Do take some time to find places to put the mic. Make sure the positions form a proper rectangle and use a tripod to maintain the mic height in all positions. You can be done in like 10 mins but the first time takes a bit longer. The time investment is worth it.

Hi. I've been experiencing some issues with this player. First, when I play FLAC files dbt 3313 does not play the first 2 or 3 seconds of the song. It's very annoying. Second, subtitles that worked fine in the time I bought the player now works poorly. Sometimes If i fast forward they just disappear and I have to stop and play the file from the begining. Sometimes subtitles just does not work. I think this kind of issues were not expected to be found in an expensive player like this.

Does anybody have problems with streaming locally? I can stream vob files to my samsung and panasonic TVs with no problem but when I use the denon I get stutter. Roughly every twenty minutes in a file or so it just freezes for about 20 seconds, catches up and then gets going again. The rendering capabilities don't seem up to it.

I have the Denon AVR-4520 and the DBT 3313
I have now tried with three 3313 players with the same result every time: There is sound but no video, only blue screen
Sometimes I can get sound and video simultaneously, but the video disappears again when I change the source or want to watch another disc
The dealer has never seen this problem before
DBT 3313 sends audio/video to the AVR 4520, and the AVR 4520 sends video to my projector (JVC X35)
Yesterday I got a Yamaha receiver which works fine with the DBT 3313
Something weird happens in the communication between the Denon receiver and player, but what?
You are my last hope before I sell either player or receiver
Please help!
Thanks
Jakob

Firstly lots of people run the 4520 3313 combination successfully. So if you keep on changing the player and it's still not working that suggests the amp is the problem. Make sure HDMI control is on in both units and that you have selected the amp as opposed to monitor output on the player. Denonlink needs to be selected in the assignments as well. Other than that you should be ok. They are designed to work together.

I have the Denon AVR-4520, and this week I'm getting the DBT-3313
Will I be able to operate the player with the AVR-4520 remote?
Specifically, I would like to be able to ajust the volume on the receiver while I have selected the player as the source
Is this possible?
Thanks

Ok so I seemed to of stumbled accross a combination of buttons on the front of the panel that initialized the unit which I'm guessing was a factory reset,
Does anyone know what that combination was incase it happens again?

Well you've pretty much eliminated a faulty player.  If you've been advised on the setup procedure (which is  fairly simple & straightforward) for connecting these two highly compatible units then it seems like an AVR problem.  Have you done a reset the microprocessor on the AVR? Have you tried a different brand player into the AVR? Also, have you tried calling Denon CS?  They can walk you through more troubleshooting.

Yes, I still like playing with Dalis.

I've just bought a Denon 3313 AVR and am unable to get audio out of Zone 2 or 3 Pre-Out's to my other zone audio system aux in. Have tested the input to my other system with a basic mp3 player and its all good. The Amp Assignments are ambiguous and I am unable to get audio out of Zone 2 or 3 at all

Cheers,

This is the wrong forum for your question. This is the Blu-ray player forum. The thread for the 3313 AVR is here:

I did an Epson 9100 projector calibration using the AVS HD 709 disc on my new DBT-3313, setting the contrast to -10 to see all the contrast bars behind the reference white.

Now I just updated the firmware on my new DBT-3313, I reinserted the calibration disc to see if there were any changes and now I can't see the contrast bars behind the reference white anymore, no matter how I change the contrast!!

P.S. Just solved by doing a reset from the system menu.

I'll much appreciate if someone is so kind to send me the "usb files" (or a link to download them) to make the DBT-3313 region free.

Thanks A LOT in advance!

Hi, I am wondering if you could solve my puzzle.

I just bought Denon 4520CI receiver and 3313UDCI. I did the standard connection: HDMI cable from projector to receiver monitor 1, HDMI cable from AMP of 3313UDCI to Blue-ray (in) of 4520CI, then Denon D link between each other. But, it only shows sounds, no video. I already setup the "input" as "auto", and Blue-ray setting as "HDMI 3, D-link, 3, 3, 3", and reboot everything.

If I switch HDMI cable from "AMP" to "Monitor", then I have video, no audio.

If I connect projector to "Monitor HDMI outlet" of 3313UDCI, then connect "AMP HDMI outlet" to 4520CI "Blue-ray" (in), I have both video and audio, with or without Denon Link. Does this mean I have a defect "AMP" HDMI outlet? Both player and receivers' HDMI control are "ON", and I have changed setting in both 4520CI and 3313UDCI.

Have you switched on HDMI control on both amp and player? Needs to be on.

I did, and it still does not work.

But, I think I might temporarily solve it today. I did this many times before, but not working: this time I assigned Monitor HDMI output and changed all related setting in DVD player (I already changed it in Denon 4250CI after HDMI control and D. link in Ditigal........., then completely shut it down overnight. This morning I connect this player to another TV directly, and it works. So I reconnect it to Denon 4250 and the projector again, it works fine now. Hopefully it will last forever.

I understand the manual said we should turn it off after the setting, and I did it many times, but it only works today.

Hopefully you guys are all ok with the setting.

Would be interested also to get the region-free trick

One question for the denon masters: is the DAC used in AVR-3313 and DBT-3313 the same? Just asking because my reseller told me that I should rather use the DBT's analog output when playing 2.0 sources because its DAC was far better (than AVR's)...
I did not try yet, but have serious doubts :-)

Thanks

I bought the 3313 a couple of weeks ago. I just now tired the streaming options. I get full HDX on Vudu but I can't get above 480 SD on Netflix. I believe I saw 720p HD pop up very briefly but then back down to 480 and below. I can switch over to my PC playing the same program and it goes right up to the super HD encode. Since I can get the full super hd Netflix encodes on my windows 8 HTPC it's not my network. I also updated the firmware.

It's not really a big problem because I'll most likely not use the 3313 for streaming, much, but I would think a high end BDP would be better than that.

I would like to know what is the DAC used in Denon dbt 3313 either, but after extensively researching trough internet I couldn't find the answer. The only tip I found was in the Denon German Website. In the Key Features of the player is said “Analog 2-channel output with 32-bit / 192kHz BurrBrown-D/A-Wandler the latest generation of high performance analog output stage”, but it doesn't specify the model number. Besides this, I don't know if the european version of the player is the same as american's.

Got My 3313 DBT player today and have a quick question.

On my 1611UD I would have a HDMI going to my 4311ci (BD) and then I have a HDMI going from my 4311ci to my TV so I can use one source and just select, cable, BD, Xbox ect with remote. With new player it has (2) HDMI labeled "amp" and "monitor". Can I still just have it like my 1611UD where a HDMI goes from player to amp and then a HDMI to display like normal or does this player process things differently?

Do I have to have a HDMI on player labeled "AMP" go to 4311Ci and then another HDMI labeled "display" go from player to display? I hope this is not the case since I want the 4311ci to do the processing ect.

I just got one too, you can run it via 1 HDMI going to your amp then from amp to TV, the manual suggests using the amp hdmi port
