I've begun looking at players recently and found the (yet to be released) DMP-BDT330.
Anyone know anything about this player.
Panasonic says it's going to be released in February.

Anyone know more about the 330?

" the high-end DMP-BDP330 is the only new Blu-ray model with 4K up-scaling, a web browser and two HDMI outputs. Like the 330, the DMP-BDP230 also does 2D-3D conversion and features Display Mirroring with select Andriod phones and tablets as well as featuring Miracast -- "

Retails for $199. This is about all I've found.

I'm holding out for either of the players. I can't find any further info also but Panny says they will be released in Feb. It appears that both players will come with Miracast. For this reason alone, I'm not considering a player or any other purchase of a device without Miracast. It's definitely the future! You will be hearing about Miracast more and more. DLNA is chunky and heavy and probably on its way out unless they make some very servere changes IMHO. i hope my newly acquired Panny SMART TV will accomidate Miracast with a firmware upgrade of course if that is at all possible. Miracast are unable to comment as this time.

I hope they come out soon. I want to get the 230 and move my 220 upstairs, to replace the BD65.

I called Panny last Friday and all they said was that it would be released this month. It appears that the Panny rep. was reading this from their site. Good grief!! I asked for a spec sheet and they left me on hold for 10 minutes to tell me they would email me one after my insistance. I never received it despite them giving me a case number. I then sent them an email for more info ie. release date, specs... and they responded all right. Pls. refer to our site periodicially for more info. I don't understand how they can say it will be released in Feb. yet can't provide any further info. Looks like we'll just have to wait.

This sentence from their website is puzzling, "With one HDMI output exclusively dedicated for a video signal and another output dedicated for an audio signal, your home theater system will look and sound incredible". Are they serious? So a tv/projector combination won't work?

I've been holding out for a 2013 model, since I have a 2012 Panasonic TV. But. twin HDMI means I'll have to give up one device. Oh, well, I don't use HDisnet DVR often.

just 1 more pair of KLIPSCH Classic speakers...

Bummer, no 2-channel analog outs anymore on the 230, 330, or new media streamers.

I am wondering if they are still doing the checkerboard format for the 2013 players. I have a Mitsubishi DLP I would like to put this player on. Last year I needed the 500 but didn't need the analog outs but I did need the dual HDMI. I know Mitsubishi is out of the game.

I don't see why not. The last three generations have had it. This x30 series has been in development before the announcement by Mitsubishi. If at all, they may remove it in the next generation. Of course, this is only my educated guess. But, we will know very shortly as the players should be arriving any day now.

So are these the first players with all the analog outputs removed? I know at some point in 2013, no BD player is supposed to be made with any analog outputs. Or is that for video only?

Actually, my Samsung BD-E6500 has no analog out at all. HDMI and optical digital. My observation is that Samsung is usually the first to adopt these things(jump the gun?). Their (2011) BDD series already had Cinavia enabled.Other contemporary models from Panasonic and LG didn't.

I am thinking the same thing. I hope they do. I bought a Sony 790 player only a couple months ago. I haven't decided whether I wanted the 3D or not and I have been happy with it. It seemed as the money in the player was toward the analog outs. I couldn't justify. Paying more without "web browsers" and "apps" but I may pick this player up as the 3D and possible mirrorcast option. I will see if the mirrorcast adds up to Apple's mirroring. There's always limitations to Android.

Has the Netflix flicker finally been fixed? If it has, I'm likely going with a Panny this year. I love my 210, but the flicker issue was a real bummer.

I've been looking for a new BD player too and came across this review: http://www.trustedreviews.com/panasonic-dmp-bdt330_Blu-ray-Player_review
Besides this review there's not much info to be found.

According to this article Panasonic is not the only one to come out with an affordable up-scaling BD player. The Sony BDP-S790 is also a WiFi steaming,3D playback player with a duel processor and 4k up-scaling.

My own assumption is that Panasonic will be the better player but Sonny may have Google TV first. I don't know if streaming is important to you but it is where my searching began.

EDIT
BTW, This article says the release is in April. I think the new 2D player was released in February. I can wait providing i'm not overcome by knowing one is available.

I'm not sure if folks understand but the 4K up-scaling in the player is completely and utterly useless. This is just marketing prattle. Even if you owned a 4K display, any HT 4K display has its own scaler anyway ... it has to ... since you'll be feeding such a display mostly non 4K content ... so by that very fact, its up-scaling in the 4K display device has to be exemplary and far better than anything stuck in a $200 BD player. Putting such technology in the BD player is therefore pointless. By the time 4K displays become the norm, Bluray players will be a thing of the past anyway.

Google TV is different than the Sony BDS790. The BDPS790 has a web browser but its not Google Chrome. The Sony bluray doesn't support Flash player so if your looking to watch videos on websites. The Sony is not going to do it. Example: Go to www.YouTube.com thru the web browser. Can't watch. Go to the YouTube app in the player. You can.
Google TV(actual TV) made with Sony, Google bluray, and Google TV (box) does support Flash player.

The BDT-230 is now in stock, direct from Panasonic, and says it will ship in 1-3 days.

No slot-in drive on the 330, it's got a disc tray behind a flip down front panel.

I have checked a local distributor. I recently saw that they have them on order -- which is the first I saw. It doesn't have a date but once it is -- I will post again when they claim they will have them.

I just received shipping confirmation from Panasonic. The tracking number isn't active yet but I'd be surprised if I didn't receive it by the end of next week.

I also received shipping confirmation that mine was sent out after ordering it over a month ago. Finally got the FED-EX tracking and it was scheduled to be delivered yesterday. I waited all day and it never came. I don't know if FED-EX ground even delivers on Saturday. Hopefully it shows up on Monday. smile.gif
