Just purchased Blu Ray Player (Sony BPDS-185/BX18) and plugged HDMI out to receiver ( Yamaha HTR5990) and have to use component to my projector which requires over 30ft so I use RGB but I do not get video . So , I ran the composite to my receiver from the Blu Ray and now I get both sound and video but picture isnt good.. I want both so should I run an HDMI cable from the Blu ray to the Yamaha in and a 35FT HDMI out to the projector ? Will I then get video from the projector and sound from my receiver? Or is there a better solution? Like , I could move the Blu ray closer to the projector and run a 6ft HDMI cable to the projector and then the 35ft RCA cables out of the projector to the HTR 5990 . Would that be the best ? Or?

Mods ask that all posts/questions go in the official thread for the player. Setup will be there.

Component on current players will not support HD video per the analog sunset:

Oppo UDP-203 -> Yamaha CX-A5100 -> Sony XBR-75X940C; Mediabridge 6' and 15' HDMI cables.

Not much good posting in a player thread: it is a receiver issue. Nothing to do with analog sunset either if player does not have component video output.

Receivers do NOT output component video from HDMI input. If projector has HDMI then use HDMI out from receiver. That's how most people do it.

Audiosceptics accept audio trials using 25 people. A recent Oxford study with over 353,000 patient records from 639 separate clinical trials shows for every 1,000 people taking diclofenac or ibuprofen there would be 3 additional heart attacks, 4 more cases of heart failure and 1 death every year. is offline
