The files themselves play via the USB input on the player, but I have no way of knowing for sure whether the quality is as it should be. And if not the simple USB option, can the files be used properly burned to a dvd, etc...?

I don't think they play with full capacity. Somewhere along the way it is decoded as 96kHz output.
There is not enough data from the manual, but you can presume that.
I don't think the human ear will notice anything above CD resolution 16/44.1 - so it's all good.

Yes, the manual is quite unhelpful. The specifications for the receiver claim 24/192 capabilities, but the player manual says nothing about hi-res audio. The receiver window merely says "PCM", not noting the 44/96/192.

Unhappy BP530 issues

Got a BP530 (now three) all refurbs; unit #1 just shut off the other day; after pulling power started again
LG's TVs at least are NOTORIOUS for bad power supply components; specifically capacitors; whether they be a bad manufacturer or under powered it matters not
ANYOHE with similar issues with theirs? Didn't take the unit apart yet
BAD caps in LG units usually BULGE at the top, FWIW

Issue Report here.

Today, to my surprise, the player, after being turned on, it reset itself,
forcing me to go through the setup wizard all over again,
and filling all network settings & other settings I previously had set.

It happened only once. No clue of what triggered this behaviour.
Anyone had the player to behave like this before?

Mine doesn't synch . Dialogue out a whack. Synch adjust on my lg 6100 tv no help. Think the app is crap right now.

I used the latest app on a Samsung S4- the audio still works when the screen times out, however this is still a slight audio delay- it must be due the wireless router.
The best option is to get wired headphones and plug it directly to the source/TV/receiver. Unfortunately, it was a good selling feature but not a practical one that can be used.
Hopefully they can work out the kinks through an update but I'm guessing it's just the limitations of routing audio through Wi-Fi.
