Been outta the market for awhile and really outta the loop when it comes to AV stuff.. But lately my PS3 has been really iffy on playing blurays.. I will have to put the movie in 2-8 times before it will recognize the disc, games and DVDs i have no problems with. Dunno what is causing the bluray movie issues.

So I am looking for something new... But i've been wanting a new bluray player for awhile. Looking at hte Panasonic 220, price is good but was wanting opinions on it... Most reviews are about wifi, netflix and yadda yadda, To me I just want a bluray player...Wifi or hardwire for updates and extras I will take either or (I personally always like hardwire over wifi, always have but a good wifi connection may be needed cause i'm bout to rearrange my living room)

As far as netflix and everything, i dont need it, i have a PS3, Xbox, wii, computers... I have enough that does all that...LOL

So how is the Pan 220 as a bluray player?? Or should i be looking at something else. (I am not a fan of sony, so i am totally not looking at anything sony, Unless there is a sony that you can say is the best player on the market and works like a charm with fast loading times and minimal issues)

Thanks in advance..

Panny is fine. Sony 5100 seems a bit faster according to some users. Also realize that every other device you listed except the PS3 sucks at Netflix (wii is 480 and others are only 720).

Out of the new wave of Middle Kingdom flimsy players Panasonic and Samsung are the ones standing out
With better quality chassis and PQ.

Please do not forget the Oppos, esp if you do audio too.

I would stick with Panny (or Oppo if you have a larger budget). I would stay away from Samsung due to poor reliability with their BluRay players.

It's a shame to hear people saying bad things bout Samsung....Oppo is outta my budget.. I have been kinda holding off to see what the new Panny brings to the table when it hits shelves... kinda why i didnt grab a 220 when it was $80 (but i will probably regret that..LOL)

I strongly recommend Pioneer BdP-62FD or the upcoming Panasonic BDT-330.

Did you try a bluray laser cleaning disk. This may work for you. But a pretty good one mind you...
