If both were the same price which one would you get? I have a Denon 4311 receiver and JVC 3D DLA projector. Will listen to some SACD through HDMI, some DVD but mostly blu-ray movies.

I had the same decision a few weeks ago and went for the Denon so that I could use Denonlink with the matching receiver. There are a few issues and I now wish I had got the Oppo. Read the official thread.

Thanks for the response. I've been leaning towards the oppo but since I can get such a big discount on the Denon I've been tempted to get the denon. I have the lower end denon now and kind of hate it though.

The Denons are tank built and the picture is ok but there are just too many issues. I personally respect and love my PS3 more when you take into account the price. No question I'd go for the Oppo personally.

I bought an expensive DVD player (even more than the Oppo) several years ago. When it had problems that required corrections to its firmware, Denon never provided that support. It left a very bad taste in my mouth. Oppo supports its products; Denon and some other manufacturers don't in my experience. I have since owned 3 Oppo products and have been happy with their quality and the support provided. Others' mileage may vary.

I went through the same decision few weeks back as well. I have Denon 4520, so I first bought DBT-3313UDCI to use denonlink. After two weeks of troubles, I returned the player and go with Oppa 103. Oppa just offer much more features, better remote and better gui than Denon does. When I had Denon, I had few random HDMI handshaking issue, especially with 3D blu ray disk.

If you only looking for SACD player only, than maybe DBT-3313UDCI is an option. But as bluray player (or plus media player), I would stick with Oppo.
