I am looking at buying an open box Denon dbt-1713 blu ray player for $350.
Is this a good blu ray player. I will be connecting it to a Denon 3313 Reciever.
from a video/audio and overall quality - do you suggest this player.
I own the predecessor to this player, the dbt 1611 and don't have any complaints....its a tad slow in loading sometimes, but really no worse then my ps3. No problems with blu-ray playback, looks as good as my ps3 or any other blu-ray player i have seen. I can stream netflix just fine off it, although it does not support netflix 5.1 audio like the ps3 does. The newer 1713 player might, since it is newer. It plays sacd and dvd-a. It does a good job of up-scaling dvd's and has a nice video processor that I don't use....i prefer the vid processor in my AVR for fine tuning the pic when needed.
I would think the 1713 would do just fine as a player for you....unless you want to use analog audio for sacd or dvd-a playback then a oppo would be the player of choice. As i don't have any intention of ever using mulichannel analog so i picked up the denon for less the half the cost of the lower end oppo and am very happy with it.
I don't need snobs to tell me how to think, thank you!
