Need opinion for best sound.

I have

Denon AVR 1613
5.1 surround speakers
Lg Blu ray player
HDMI connection

I was playing with the audio settings in the blu ray player and came across the following choices

HDMI ( PCM Stereo, PCM Multi-CH, DTS Re-encode, Primary Pass- Thru)
Digital Output ( PCM Stereo, DTS Re-Encode, Primary Pass- Thru)
Sampling Freq: (48 kHz, 96 KHz, 192KHZ)

Im trying to play Iron Man 2 on Blu Ray and I don't see DTS master , Dolby True HD, Dolby Digital

What settings should I use?

You might try asking in the player thread. Bitstream (Primary Pass-Thru).

What player do you have. If you want you receiver to do the decoding, player should be set to pass-thru or bitstream. Secondary audio should be off.

I have an LG Blu-ray player.

If you want to see the DTS-HD light turn on at your receiver, you need to let the receiver do the decoding. Either way is fine. There is no difference. But in order to let receiver decode, you must setup player to bitstream (which most don't out of box). As mentioned above, you need to select HDMI audio to primary passthrough and turn off secondary audio.

How do I turn off secondary Audio?

These are the options my player has

HDMI ( PCM Stereo, PCM Multi-CH, DTS Re-encode, Primary Pass- Thru)
Digital Output ( PCM Stereo, DTS Re-Encode, Primary Pass- Thru)
Sampling Freq: (48 kHz, 96 KHz, 192KHZ)

Sorry, I don't have LG player. You need to ask your question in LG player owner's thread.

If memory serves, LG players don't have a secondary audio setting. Primary Pass-thru means secondary audio is turned off.

When you play a dts-MA or TrueHD track, what does your receiver report about the type of audio it is getting?
