I wonder: when will their be enough choice in 4K souirces like 4K BD, or 4k TV channels. i think it'll take at least 4 years before we have any decent 4K content. So time enough to buy a 1080P Oppo BDP, and just use it.

Also i'm not in the mood in more paranoid content protection from content industry.
For me the discovery of 'Cinavia watermark detection' is the limit. It sucks so much that my BDP103D is the last player that i bought, and when it's broken in a future, i'll only download movies (yeah illegal) and play it on computer.

The frustrating part is having wood floors. Cat puke on a wood floor is an easy cleanup. But no. They always choose any place NOT on the wood floor.

Yes, a cat by themselves gets very annoying. They get bored easily. If u have at least 2, they keep each other occupied

There will be between 150 and 400 uhd discs this year alone, so content won't be an issue by the time the 4k oppos rolls out later this year.

The 4k hdr picture is awesome and I don't wanna wait to experience it. I'm buying the 4k samsung this month and the oppo later. Will sell off the samsung at that time.

Well certainly your experience isn't everyone's experience so why assume that it is?

I rip my legit movies to a NAS and cinavia affects me.

Really. Cinavia does not affect me with my BDP-103.

I have a few Cinavia infested movies stored on my NAS that I backed-up to the .mkv container and they play (sound) fine...

I'm waiting. I prefer 4k 3D but most important OLED. And personally, at the moment it's just too expensive for what you get.
I don't want led / lcd screens with stupid backlight.
My older plasma that i use now has more sharper screen, and most important more black contrast. But it's HDready and uses a lot of power, compared to modern tv's.

That's why i disable firmware update notification on my BDP103D.
Because we're lucky (don't talk too much about it) that the f*cked up watermark detection only works on discs (at the moment), and not on network/usb. But that can change any time. We all know how paranoid the content industry is.
It's also the reason that the BDP103D is the latest player that i buy. Next time it's a computer where i controll the opensource-software of it, so that i choose what it can and cannot do.

You're buying a disc and the right to play that disc. Not to rip it which IS bypassing the copyright protection.

Video settings? The usual advice is to leave them at zero. But it is up to you. What looks best to your eye?

Yes. That's only going to matter for DVDs. There are interlaced Blu-rays but converting 1080i to p is dead easy.

The Dutch law say that you have the right to use the content that you legally buy in your own household.
So if you buy a for example BD movie, and want to play it on another device without for example BD player in your house, so not at other people's home (for example mobile device or car stereo), then you're free to do that.

So the content industry rules are more restricted then the in my case Dutch law it selves. (And did you know that the content industry doesn't pay all taxes in Netherlands, so they're illegal).

Is there a noticeable difference outputting video straight to the TV from source or does everyone just go through their receivers/prepro's

I go through my receiver (a Pioneer SC-95). Unless your receiver does some really bad, undefeatable image processing, or your receiver doesn't forward 3D or 4K (and you have a 3D and/or 4K TV), I'd say you probably won't see a meaningful improvement. But I'm sure someone will have a story that says otherwise.

My List in the Netflix app?

In the Netflix app on my BDP-103D, I cannot figure out how to show my saved list of movies. It shows Continue Watching, Watch It Again, (which has a lot of movies I've NOT watched,) and the usual bunch of Netflix categories.

Does anyone know how to get to my saved list?

Thanks.

^ In the Netflix app, starting from whatever set of thumbnails it is showing, use Up Arrow to look above those. You'll get to a line with things like settings on it, and possibly Search. Keep going Up and you'll get to My List.

If what's listed bears no relationship to your account, Netflix has probably screwed up the connection between the player and your account. I suggest you go into Settings > Device Settings and Deactivate Netflix. Then launch Netflix again (you'll have to login anew) and that will re-establish the connection between the player and your account.

If what's shown is STILL screwed up, you'll probably need to go to Netflix Tech Support and have them do some magic at their end.

NOTE: What's shown in the Netflix app is something Netflix generates on the fly each time you use the app. They've been known to "experiment" with the user interface, and try it out on a subset of customers. So you may be seeing the result of an experiment gone horribly wrong. There's basically nothing the OPPO can do to screw up what Netflix sends for you to see. For example, there's nothing the OPPO could be doing wrong which would cause your list of Watch It Again choices to be unrelated to your actual viewing.

Thanks for the suggestions, Bob. I've used Netflix on several different devices, and the interface can be different on each. I asked here about the OPPO because I figured I was just not seeing some step. So I just fired up the machine to try your suggestions, and son-of-a-gun, there was My List as the first category shown! These forums really are magical.

I don't have an NAS, but just play Cinavia infested movies in .mkv from a flash drive. The Cinavia "watermark" is read off the physical disk (and back-ups burned on disk) thus replay in .mkv bypasses it.

And I do it with a clear conscience. My viewing is more time shifting anyway as I don't archive or keep them. The studios get my money when I rent from Redbox and I'm comfortable with ripping it to .mkv and watching it a week later. On the other hand, jay walking is the first step toward anarchy.

The Cinavia watermark is actually embedded in the audio, it just gets ignored in certain situations.
