3D capable usually means 3D passthru so I'm guessing no. Just run HDMI 1 to the projector and HDMI 2 to the Denon.

Mrwizzard: The same trouble hapenned to me  and to a friend of mine. He fixed his problem by placing a splitter between the cable receiver hdmi and the Oppo.hdmi front. I'l do the very thing and already ordered a splitter. It's worth trying. Waltiesantos

I got the 103 D for Christmas to replace an aging Panasonic Blueray. Another set up question.

I have an older Denon 3310Ci (no 3d). Currently everything runs into the Denon then one HDMI out to the ZT60.

Here is my list:

Motorola (Shaw Direct) sat receiver
Xbox 360
Nintendo Wii
Denon 3310Ci
Oppo 103D
65" Panasonic Zt60
Harmony One remote

I would like to take advantage of the 103 for 3d and video processing and darbee on all sources, but keep audio processing task to the Denon. What is the best way to connect to Panasonic 65" Zt60?

Thanks. I may give that a try. It seems to be a handshake issue. If I switch sources and then come back to the rear HDMI selection, everything seems to be fine. Just annoying to deal with. Would rather have it set right all the time. Thanks!

Personally I wouldn't bother with the game machines but that's just me.
So sat receiver to Oppo input and then Oppo 1 Out to an unused input on the ZT60 and Oppo 2 Out into the Denon.

If you really want to hook up the game consoles through the Oppo you will have to pick one or the other or purchase a HDMI switch, as the Oppo only has two inputs.

Thanks. I don't need the game consoles to be processed. Just the Sat box and Bluray that is what I meant. I am running everything into the AVR at the moment and wanted to know the best way to hook up the 103D. I currently only have one HDMi input used on the Panasonic. I guess i just can't take the HDMI OUT from the AVR to the OPPO IN and run an HDMI OUT from the Oppo to the display?

I believe it's a pretty rare function in AVRs/AVPs these days. Hi bwillcox,
I have a OPPO 93 connected to my Z11 and my 103 attached via analog to my old DSP-A1. Like your Z9 I know my A1 allows DSP processing with the analog inputs but have never tried it with the Z11. So bottom line, if one utilizes analog inputs on the Z11 or new A5000 all processing/DSP is bypassed - as in no 11 channel audio? I was actually going to try that but it sounds like i have no reason to.... :-(
Sorry for straying a bit off topic folks

Thanks B

Cheers

So if I wanted the use the game consoles thru the AVR and OPPO I would need a HDMI switch and hook the game consoles and Sat box directly to the HDMI switch IN and then OUT to the OPPO hdmi IN , then OPPO HDMI 1 out to TV? I want to use the AVR audio for the game consoles and trying to avoid connecting 2-3 HDMI IN to the TV. I have 2 HDMI cables snaked thru the wall to a wall mounted TV and don't want to have to snake another HDMI cable. I currently have a Darblet hooked up inline and it is so simple Darblet installed between HDMI OUT from AVR then Darblet to TV. This processes ALL sources

Here's what I would do if I am reading your posts correctly above.

You have two HDMI runs to your ZT60, a standalone Darblet and the 103D.
I would run your sat box through the 103D via HDMI 1 direct to the ZT60 - 103Ds HDMI 2 to the AVR for audio. That would use one of your inwall HDMI runs. I would then get an HDMI switch, run both the Wii (HDMI adapter required) and xBox through the switch to the AVR - then out of the AVR to the ZT60 via your second inwall HDMI run that has the inline Darblet. This way you have 3D capability from the 103 to TV as well as digital audio to AVR, as well as Darbee processing and digital audio from both game consoles etc. You can get a nice/inexpensive 4 in/1 out HDMI switch from Monoprice or other seller. That way you have two more slots for future sources etc. You don't even require a switch if your AVR has a few open HDMI inputs.

Thanks. I am not concerned about the games consoles and Darbee. I was going to remove the Darblet and install it in my main system with a Marantz 8801 and Oppo 105. This was my main plan for getting the 103D.

In that case I would do the same minus the Darblet. :-) - Either way I would go / utilize the two HDMI runs to the ZT60 route. Use the AVR as the switch.
If I ever get an AVR or Pre-Pro that is 3D capable I'll still probably run a dedicated HDMI from OPPOs to displays - then use HDMI 2 for audio. Definitely helps out on the compatibility/handshake issues.

Cheers

Sounds good to me. You can watch either bluray or cable on both TV and Projector, right? I read that as Bluray on Projector and Cable on TV. There is nothing to stop you from watching bluray on TV or cable on projector unless of course it is your choice.

Holy cow, the more I use thing the more amazed I am.
The look and feel of everything including the aesthetics, software, remote, etc, etc. is amazing...not to mention the picture quality!

I was an Oppo skeptic, but damn this thing is amazing in every regard.

I am well aware of the lack of love for 2D to 3D converters, but I wanted to mention that I find the converter on the 103D to be the equal of the best converter I have used previously, namely, PowerDVD 13 Ultra. I know that conversion technology is a work in progress, but I still find it amazing that it works at all... and sometimes the results are remarkable.

I have generally found that the most impressive results are with movies that have an almost 3D look to them anyway such as Peter Jackson's KING KONG, Sam Raimi's SPIDERMAN trilogy, and the original STAR WARS trilogy. I know the converter is often described as a gimmick, but it's one that I happen to like!

The Oppo also allows me to feed broadcast TV as an input, so I can now watch sports in converted 3D, and I am enjoying that experience as well.

Kudos to the manufacturer for offering this feature!

Just wondering guys, does the Oppo 103D support xvYCC? The reason why I am asking is I am trying to set up my new display (Hecto Laser display) to work with the new blu-rays that are Mastered in 4k Maximum Picture Extended Colour. What I am doing is going into the expert picture control section (In Hecto) and under the Colour Gamut I have a series of options, example standard, wide, EBU, SMPTE, BT709 and below it you have another option which is xvYCC on or off which is there unhighlighted and does not allow me to turn it on. What could be causing this that I cannot turn this on? Or is this because like I originally stated that the 103D might not support xvYCC?

Right now I am running a 93 using source direct output to a DVDO DUO feeding two 5.2 systems, one a plasma and the other a projector system on the opposite wall. I am also feeding the DUO my cable box and a OTA tuner. I use a HDMI splitter after the HDMI audio out on the DUO to feed the two 5.2 audio systems. If I swap a 103D for the 93 in order to get Darbee enhancement I need to use something other than source direct from the 103D or Darbee is disabled. I assume Darbee is not affected by running through a processor like the DUO or Lumagen, but I may be mistaken. Anyone here using their 103D in a similar manner through a processor, and what output settings do you use?

You may find yourself not even needing the DUO once you install the 103D wink.gif ...unless you just use it as an hdmi switcher.

I agree. if you do not need to "process" more than two boxes, the 103D works great.

Thanks for the responses. I still need to use the DVDO DUO's CMS for the two displays. The one thing I am unsure about is if the DUO affects the Darbee enhancement in any way.

Release date: December 27, 2013
Category: Latest Public Beta Test Release
Main Version: BDP10X-68-1225B
Loader Version: 6U1000 or 7B1300 (BDP-103), 7B1300 (BDP-105, BDP-103D)
Sub Version: MCU103-05-0916 (BDP-103), MCU105-04-1113 (BDP-105), , MCU13D-01-0618 (BDP-103D), DB10X 131030 (BDP-103D)

Release Notes:
1. Improved Gapless Playback performance and resolved several issues involving Gapless Player, such as the track title not getting refreshed in the Now Playing interface, and the player becoming unresponsive when trying to access a disc in the tray without stopping the currently ongoing Gapless Playback.
2. Improved HDMI handshake performance for the HDMI input ports.
3. Resolved the Wi-Fi connection failure with access points or routers using WEP security. This error was introduced by 67-1204 firmware and this version corrects it.
4. Resolved an audio truncation issue occurring with several DVD-Audio discs. Customers reported that the first note or two was cut off between track changes, and when the PREV button was used to restart the current track. Sample discs included "Queen: A Night At The Opera", "Buena Vista Social Club", "Beatles: Love" and "R.E.M.: New Adventures in Hi-Fi". This error was introduced by 67-1204 firmware and this version corrects it.
5. Resolved the playback failure with certain customer-encoded audio files in WAV, FLAC and AIFF formats. Symptoms included files being skipped, files being played with static noise, and files causing the player to freeze. The 67-1204 firmware adds more support to meta data tags in these files but encounters this problem if the meta data tags are in non-standard location. This version further improves the support for meta data tags and corrects the problem.

All features and improvements of the previous firmware are also included in this version.

Anybody experienced the 103D saying unknown disc and not playing blu ray discs? I'm going to send it back unless someone know how to solve this problem. I was watching Red 2 last Friday, and it stopped an hour into the movie. Since then, I can not get any disc to play. I'm ready to send my Oppo in, but I'm hoping someone has a solution to my problem

Can anyone tell me if this player has Cinavia protection? I don't want to buy it if it does which means should any of my Blu-rays go bad, I could not play the backup. Also, does this unit do the same processing as the stand-alone Darbee unit? Thanks:-)
