Pansonic quietly announced (no pictures) their new line of Blu-ray players. It looks like they are cutting down their line. It looks like only the announced BDT360 will have 3D and it will also sport 4K scaling and a web browser. I'll post more as details emerge.

Press Announcement:

What sort of web browser are they talking about? Any ideas. Mark

Cortiz 02-27-2014 06:11 AM

Anyone knows when this streets?

FunnyLion 03-10-2014 03:05 PM

Looks like panny is already selling them -- http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/DMP-BDT360 and the cost is pretty comparable to the previous BDT330. any features missing/added on the 360, does anyone know?

beanmeister 03-19-2014 10:38 AM

Ordered mine today through Panasonic Website. :-)
There is still not a lot of information regarding reviews of the BDT-360. Bought on faith!

Hi beanmeister , Can you check and see if DD+ is working on Amazon prime thanks.

beanmeister 03-21-2014 09:48 PM

Infuriating experience.
Email invoice said BDT 360, but what I got was BD91 in box without any packing!
This was through Panasonic Direct sales.
GRRRRRR!! Very suspicious, but mail address says Panasonic North America. Stumped!!

Panasonic seems to be doing a great job of losing the "hearts and minds" of US electronic consumers.

Hopefully, you can get ahold of someone who can "make it right." To me, that would include sending you the correct unit via an overnight shipper, and not making you return the item you received first.

gadgtfreek 03-23-2014 07:44 AM

Hopefully it will hit Amazon soon, id like to grab one to try out and see if they fixed the video test errors it had last year.

gadgtfreek 03-24-2014 10:52 AM

There is also a 700 model I guess, reminds of the current 500.. really sharp unit, but I guess it will be may before we see it.

gossamer88 04-01-2014 07:59 AM

Just got the email from B&H that the 360 is up for preorder ($139).

Saw that. Still surprised they are so behind releasing, and I guess that 700 will be May or June now.

teachsac 04-01-2014 10:15 AM

I'm surprised, also. Usually they hit late February/early March. Now April. Local BB had a ton of the 230s on the shelves. The 700 has always been scheduled for May.. I can see June. I wonder if they have something special planned that they are keeping secret with the inclusion of full HDMI 2.0. Info has been virtually zilch on this player.

I def. intend on grabbing a 700. I needed two and I'll put this 6200 in the bedroom since the 700 looks a LOT better.

gadgtfreek 04-07-2014 07:36 AM

From Panny employee that is a reliable source:

Excess inventory at our channels has lead to most companies delaying shipments.

Told you there were a boatload of last year's models around wink.gif

gadgtfreek 04-07-2014 08:09 AM

Yepp!

I still have my eyes on that 700. Seems to be the only model with a new and improved Uniphier so thats exciting (at least for me; I know, I get excited easily).

jlmcr87 04-09-2014 09:45 AM

Hi, jlmcr87 from Spain, first impresions of this unit:

Let´s start with some photos. This bluray player is very small and light. The top part is made by brushed alluminium and it´s easily marked with finger traces.

Interface:

Very easy to learn. Looks the same as previous years.

Impresions:

I´m quite surprised:
- I didn´t expect it will recognize my 3TB WD hard drive. The first time i´ve plugged it says "not compatible" but despite that, I inmediately get access to it.

- It plays any mkv like a charm. Even uncompressed bdremux. All very smooth. Also DTS and Dolby digital sound.

- It plays flac files.

- Very easy and fast wifi connection.

- Affordable unit. 150 euros. Highly recommended

gadgtfreek 04-09-2014 10:07 AM

Awesome thanks. Def looks better than the budget sony's.

Thx for your time to post pics and your thoughts

Much appreciated

dandiego 04-09-2014 08:38 PM

I like how the top is the same color (black) as the rest of the unit... It's too bad we in the U.S. get the less attractive version with the silver top.

beanmeister 04-11-2014 05:34 PM

Yes. Thank you for the nice pictures.
Mine worked ok, but noticed the system kept booting me off the Netflix account, and I had to re-set and re-enter account information.
I called Panasonic, and they told me on the phone that every year about this time Netflix updates their software and I should not be having this problem too long.
They admitted many were complaining and asked me to re-set the unit and re-enter information again.
Not sure yet if this has helped.

gadgtfreek 04-15-2014 06:54 AM

One reliable etailer now has the 360 in stock.
