We don't have a surround sound speaker system nor do we want one.  We are older in our 70's, but still love movies.  Now these blu-ray discs and some DVDs have such a dynamic range in the audio that you can't hear the conversation, but then the sound fx come in insanely loud.  The disparity is ridiculous and such that you have to constantly ride the volume on the remote.  It's caused alot of arguments and consternation, especially when a family member is trying to sleep in the back bedroom in the evenings.  Please somebody steer us to a solution that can return us to the days of enjoying our home movies!  Is there a setting in the HDTV?  We have a Samsung.  Or the Blu-ray player?  We have a Sony.  If so, these settings have been hard to find.  Help!
