Woo-hoo!

Definitely picking up these:

Fifth Element
Knight's Tale
Resident Evil 2
RoboCop
Stargate
Terminator 1
Terminator 2

Considering Kung Fu Hustle as well.

Hopefully Warner will put T3 in their first batch of BD titles.

If I watch Stargate one more time, my wife may leave me. :)

Man... when I first saw RoboCop, I thought it was a great flick. I was flipping channels the other day and came across it (or one of the sequels) and it looked really really dated. I'm not sure HD will be kind to that movie.

HDTV wasn't kind to it when it aired recently.

alot of these OLD movies need full restoration for HD to clean up the picture. MPEG encoding wont help either :(

DVD's are about movies & people watch them in living rooms, how many people actually use their computer drives to sit and watch movies- Bluray's Andy Parsons

I know this is the Blu-Ray forum but your post reminded me of something I had been thinking for awhile about HD-DVD. I think it's more than just coincidence that they picked March 28th for their release date. March has 5 weeks in it and so most people have an extra weeks worth of disposable income. Seems pretty convenient to me to release at the end of the month when people have that extra money in hand.

Not me, I had to pay them this year (which is actually better if you think about it).

One thing I find interesting about that. When you get a refund it takes them a few weeks to get you the money. When I sent them the check, it only took the government 6 days to cash it. Who says the government is slow at everything!

I will buy my first Blu-Ray when and if Blockbuster starts to carry new releases in BR format. So far it looks like another DVHS experience where early adopters buy 5 or 6 titles like Terminator and 5th Element. How many Terminator disks do you guys already have?

That's actually a good idea. Just bought my first Netflix player but I don't know where to get movies from. Almost everything I find is just trailer or short film. Do you know a good source?
