They alsow don't now in what reason we have rz and ż - They have EXACLY the same spelling. And I too thing it is not-natural but hey - every language have history and meaning of things :)

Rupi - Nie mogłeś zarejestrować sie bo w okienko Spamming Bots Stop trzeba cokolwiek wpisać :).

Oh and In Eng. : Rupi - You couldn't register beacose in window Spamming Bots Stop You must write enything :).

Meybe You have writed that, meybe not, but Gmeru from HDTV Centrum Polska said that there is NO problems in wathing films on DVD and it looks really BETTER !! If I good remamber he alsow said that it looks amlost like 1080i! and sometimes High Definition ! In a simply DVD film/koncert !!. Blu-Ray CDs (?) are also hard to devastate !! :D:D

I have translated only a fiew things, beacose it is not my Blu-ray and I have no permission to translate :) And also I am not very good in englisch, I could translate something wrong.

Compliments from Poland. Uh and one thing - meybe You don't knew Polish language, but we now English - so stay attention and bewere :D.

Define "bigger." What exactly did you expect? Be specific.

No RS-232 I see....:(

There are more than a handful of [op amps] that sound so good that most designers want to be using them as opposed to discreet transistors. Dave Reich, Theta 2009

So you would use a disc instead for firmware updates yes?

No big deal, imo.

If you guys in Poland are going to stick around on AVS, you should start a thread for Poland in our Local HDTV forum. It will give you a chance to practice your English, and many of us like to follow the HDTV situation and issues in other countries.

slavic languages are hard to learn for non-slavs.
slavs usually learn other languages rather fast.
(ie slav will learn english much faster than englishman will learn slavic. in fact most englishmen will never be able to do slavic properly, while slavs will do english rather nicely...).

perhaps more interesting thing is an attempt on inter-slavic communication:
"odakle vama poljacima nešto što ni amerikanci nemaju?"
hehe...

back to the subject: player without software doesn't worth much, but looking forward to reading reports of people with both hd-dvd and br players and same movies on both...
i predicted bd+mpeg2 would look better than hd-dvd+vc1(or avc); soon we'll see was this correct, and..hehm..can anbody even tell the difference anyway....

No problemo. Please visit our HDTV Polska forum, you know the link.

Didn't Samsung opt out of the Faroudja licencing deal and decided to go it alone with their SD players ?

The Genesis chip is used to deinterlace the image. They are still using the SiI to transmit HDMI. Earlier in the thread it stated that the Genesis did the HDMI transmission.

I believe the player only outputs 1080p60, not 1080p24. What is unknown at this point is if 1080i is being sent to the FLI to convert to 1080p. I suspect it is. Once the player is out, it will be easy enough to verify. I can make a BD disc with some sample clips to confirm.

Nice photos, BTW.

Excellent photos, very imformative. Dziekuje!

Check me if I'm wrong, but that's the same OPU/actuator that Samsung showed in December 2004.

Thanks for the great picture. Genesis chip is for deinterlace 1080i60 from the decoder to 1080p? What is the decoder then?
Keith once mentioned their 8634 SoC directly scale 1080p24 to 1080p60, no interlace mode involved. Could decoder also be the reason for no 1080p24 support?

The Samsung appears to be using the Broadcom decoder, not the Sigma Designs.

I suspect it is also outputting 444 or RGB over HDMI and is why it was clipping when I looked at it. Samsung needs to update the HDMI output to offer 422 like Toshiba did in the firmware update.

I suspect 1080p60 will be the norm for output, not 1080p24. There are some isues to work out with displays syncing when the output is changing between 24p and 60p/60i. It is an interesting problem.

I tyle, end of the story.

Pozdrawiam
