Anyone else had this problem?

I quite often find that my player suddenly becomes unresponsive to the remote.

Yes, I changed the batteries, and this isn't a line-of-sight issue. I find the only way to get things working again is to reboot the player. Therefore, I think the problem is on the player side, not anything to do with the remote...

Did you ask/look in the 3,500+ post sticky thread specific to the BDP-HD1 at the top of the forum?

I should clarify that when the issue I've detected occurs, the player itself doesn't freeze; it can still be operated (eg chapter advance) by pressing the buttons on the player. But it is, however, unresponsive to signals from the remote, until the system has been rebooted.

I did search the thread before posting, and while there are MANY references to the BDP-HD1 freezing when playing various disc titles, I didn't find a reference to the same problem I'm reporting.

Are you using the latest firmware? On the older firmware if you get too anxious and push too many buttons at once it may lock up the player but that is about it. I doubt you are going to find many people that have freezes with this player from a disk. It is usually user induced if it happens.

Agreed. It most often happens when I'm repeatedly pressing the chapter advance button. But it's annoying to have to reboot the player to get things back on track. I had hoped there might be some other way of solving the issue. By the way, I am using the latest firmware.
